Palm Springs, CA (The Hollywood Times, Media Partner for HRC events this weekend) 11/8/25 – Last night, Thursday, November 6, the Human Rights Campaign welcomed supporters for an exclusive, heartfelt Major Donor Reception that set the tone for a powerful Pride weekend ahead. The gathering took place at a stunning private residence in the heart of Palm Springs, where community members, advocates, and allies came together in a beautiful, warm and relaxed atmosphere.

Mayor Ron deHarte offered meaningful remarks about Palm Springs’ legacy as a beacon for equality and inclusion, acknowledging both the progress made and the work that still remains. Brian O’Connor followed with thoughtful insights on the ongoing mission of HRC, emphasizing the importance of unity and sustained support during a time where LGBTQ+ rights continue to be challenged across the nation.

The energy throughout the evening reflected both gratitude and resolve. Guests exchanged stories, reconnected with community, and shared a collective commitment to advocacy that extends well beyond the weekend festivities. The setting, surrounded by mid-century elegance and desert twilight, provided a beautiful backdrop for the conversations and camaraderie that unfolded.

The celebration continues today with the highly anticipated HRC Garden Party right around the corner from my home in Old Las Palmas, where even larger community engagement, music, and recognition will take place. It promises to build on the spirit of last night, moving from reflection into joyful visibility.

Side note: The Washington DC HRC we’re in attendance, thank you for all the work you do!
