A Conversation with Author Maureen Meehan – Hollywood Times
My relationship started, with Maureen Meehan when I approached her at our community 4th of July Barbeque Party. I initially asked her for help to see if she could help me break into getting in with a law firm as I can service Probate and or Trust listings as I am a Real Estate Broker. She ended up referring to me to one of her best friends from Law School who runs a Prominent Estate Planning Law Firm here in Orange County. The lawyer interviewed me for about 30 minutes and said I should stick to being an Entertainment Reporter. I got a stern message. The fact that Maureen tried to help me was more than enough for me. I knew in my heart that this was a special friend to me. As a real estate broker getting probate and trust listings referred to by a law firm it is like hitting the lottery. Those relationships are very few and far between. It takes many years and might I say a horseshoe up one “touché”.
Maureen and I started walking a couple times a week, and I told her one day that I had a plan for her to get where she wanted to go. We all know that there are so many talented, beautiful, hardworking artists in our industry. However, finding the right platform was going to be Key for Maureen to make it to the big screen. As I have rubbed shoulders with the A listers throughout my entertainment career as a Playboy Model, Reality Star…. I have made some good connections. If only getting Probate listings from Real Estate Lawyers was so clear to me.
The book won the Eric Hoffer Award for independent thought in literature last May 2025 and the screenplay has won awards and film festivals around the world. The book was featured in the New York Times Magazine as well, so the asset was placeable with the right connections.
I was able to connect the dots with Maureen Meehan and DPA Gift Suite. Maureen did the whole awards season and brought her books to DPA Gift Suite for (Emmys, Golden Globes, Grammys & Oscars). Maureen did photo ops and her book signings with A-List Celebrities in the DPA Gift lounge with A list Actress as Sharon Stone, Angela Basset, Viola Davis and Movie Studio Exec David Bernard (Sony Entertainment).
Maureen’s Book was also featured on network tv news as, KTLA NEWS, NBC NEWS, and many mainstream medias. DPA GIFT SUITE created an amazing platform for the press of “60 Dates in 6 Months” and it helped with the negotiations through her publicist and my former one as well. She worked previously with Freestyle Digital Media (owned by successful Media Mogul Byron Allen). I was able to connect the dots there as well and make a successful Introduction. The combination of DPA Gift Suites platform and Maureen’s PR was the perfect combination to sell a movie.

Maureen and “Only Josie Knows” are headed to the 79 Cannes Film Festival SOON and Maureen will be signing her book at the DPA Cannes Gift Suite.

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, proudly announces the acquisition of VOD rights to the romantic comedy 60 DATES IN 6 MONTHS, which will be available to rent/own on North American digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms on April 17th, 2026, as well as DVD on April 21st, 2026. The film stars Katelin Chesna, Adrianne Harris, Katherine Kirkpatrick, Annabel Storm, James Hyde, Rob Moore, and Paul Logan.
