Hollywood, CA (The Hollywood Times) 05/01/206 – The 17th edition of the TCM Classic Film Festival will run April 30 through May 3, 2026, in Hollywood, California, with the theme “The World Comes to Hollywood”, honoring immigrant pioneers and visionary artists who shaped the film industry. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel serves as the official hotel and central gathering point, continuing its historic role as the site of the first Academy Awards ceremony.
I so look forward to covering TCM Classic Film Festival every year and that time is upon us once again. Surely the fans are also excited that the day is here. There are folks from all over the United States and some from all around the world. I love to meet folks to find out if this is their first TCMCFF and some say yes and others I meet have been going since the beginning back in 2010. My first one was in 2011 as a fan and the first one I covered as a journalist was 2013. I have been lucky enough to cover all the Hand and Footprint ceremonies from 2013 to this years.
I went on Thursday to pick up my media credentials and take some photos:
Some notable celebrities that have RSVP’d are: Jane Fonda, who will introduce Barefoot in the Park co-starring her late friend Robert Redford, Sharon Stone, Carol Burnett, Cameron Crowe, Laura Dern, Barbara Hershey, Ken Jennings, Tony Shalhoub, Lorna Luft, Andrew Rannells, Lesley Ann Warren, Peter Weller, Paul Williams, Mario Cantone, Adam Shankman, Faye Dunaway and Glenn Close, who received her hand and footprints in the TCL Chinese Theatre forecourt yesterday, May 1st.
The TCM Classic Film Festival opened April 30th with a screening of BAREFOOT IN THE PARK at the TCL Chinese Theater followed by a conversation with actress Jane Fonda.
Unfortunately, The Hollywood Times was not approved to cover the red carpet or opening night movie but heard it was top notch. Here are photos provided by TCM:
