San Diego, CA (The Hollywood Times) – San Diego Pride weekend got off to a spectacular start Friday evening as Jennifer Corday and her full band took over the legendary Gossip Grill for an energetic, joyful and exceptionally well-attended performance.

From the moment Corday stepped onstage, the packed crowd was ready to celebrate. The acclaimed singer-songwriter delivered a lively set filled with fan favorites, heartfelt originals and the unmistakable charisma that has made her such a beloved performer in the LGBTQ+ community.

One of the evening’s most memorable moments came when Corday invited me onstage for Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie.” Hearing my name sung by a room full of Pride revelers was already wonderful, but sharing the stage with Jennifer made it an unforgettable experience.

Corday also performed her ever-popular new original song inspired by 2 of her friends’ breakup (even though they are back together), giving them a special shout-out from the stage. The personal tribute was touching, funny and warmly received by the enthusiastic crowd. Jennifer has a gift for making everyone in the room feel included, and Friday night was a beautiful example of the genuine connection she creates with her audience.

The three-hour Pride weekend kickoff ran from 6 to 9 p.m. at Gossip Grill, one of San Diego’s best-known LGBTQ+ gathering places. Billed as “full band, full house and always a blast,” the celebration more than lived up to that promise. Corday’s official event listing described the evening perfectly.

Corday’s San Diego Pride weekend is not over yet. She will be DJing a private house party today, which Ana Maria and I plan to attend for a little while as the festivities continue.
