Story and Photos by Jimmy Steinfeldt
After 56 years that Little Ol’ Band from Texas continues to rock the house.
ZZ Top consists of the original members Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard and now with bassist Elwood Francis doing a great job in the role previously filled by the dear departed Dusty Hill.

With Gibbons on lead vocals and guitars the band belted out their amazing catalog of hits. The set list this night at Agua Caliente in Rancho Mirage included: “Got Me Under Pressure”, “I Thank You”, “Waitin’ for the Bus”, “Jesus Just Left Chicago”, “Gimme All Your Lovin'”, “Pearl Necklace”, “I’m Bad”, “I’m Nationwide”, “My Head’s in Mississippi”, “Sixteen Tons”, “Just Got Paid”, “Sharp Dressed Man”, “Legs”, “Brown Sugar”, “Tube Snake Boogie” and “La Grange”.
Gibbons regaled the audience with funny and entertaining stories. I love when musicians share with the audience. It adds a personal touch to the concert experience. They concluded their show with an ass kicking rendition of their biggest hit “La Grange” ending with bubble machines showering the venue with bubbles.

If you’ve never seen ZZ Top in concert, or if like me you’ve seen them zillions of times over the decades, I recommend you see this tour. The band’s current tour continues through November 22. Check out their website for a show near you! https://www.zztop.com/
