Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 4/17/26 – Los Angeles will once again take center stage for a powerful celebration of identity, leadership, and belonging as JQ International hosts its highly anticipated 2026 JQ Impact Awards. Set for Sunday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stephen Wise Temple, this annual gathering brings together changemakers, advocates, and allies to honor those shaping a more inclusive future for LGBTQ+ Jews and their communities.

As a proud media presence, The Hollywood Times will be on-site to cover what promises to be an inspiring and meaningful afternoon.

Now marking its 22nd anniversary, the JQ Impact Awards continues its legacy of spotlighting leaders who are strengthening LGBTQ+ Jewish life while fostering connection and visibility across Los Angeles.

The event blends celebration with substance, featuring a brunch reception, music, and a compelling panel discussion centered on mental health, resilience, and belonging. At its core, the Impact Awards also serves as a critical fundraiser supporting JQ International’s essential programs, including mental health services, education, and community-building initiatives.

This year’s honorees represent a diverse cross-section of leadership and advocacy:

  • Lindsey HorvathLeadership Award
Recognized for her transformative work on homelessness, climate action, and inclusive governance, Horvath continues to champion policies that uplift marginalized communities across Los Angeles County.
  • Nate LooneyTrailblazer Award
A U.S. Army veteran and national leader in community safety and belonging, Looney has dedicated his career to advancing inclusion for LGBTQ+ Jews, Jews of Color, and diverse communities worldwide.
  • Rabbi Yoshi ZweibackAllyship Award
A respected spiritual leader, educator, and musician, Rabbi Zweiback is honored for his unwavering commitment to human dignity and advocacy within and beyond the Jewish community.

Guiding the afternoon’s panel discussion is Yona Speidel, an Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated writer and producer known for groundbreaking work on shows like Transparent and Pose.

Her leadership as moderator promises a dynamic and deeply personal conversation, amplifying voices that reflect both the challenges and triumphs of LGBTQ+ Jewish life today.

The JQ Impact Awards is more than a ceremony, it is a call to action. In a time when conversations around identity, equity, and mental health are more urgent than ever, this gathering creates space for connection, reflection, and forward momentum.

Guests can expect:

  • A vibrant brunch and networking experience
  • Live musical elements
  • A thought-provoking panel with this year’s honorees
  • A shared commitment to advancing inclusion and belonging

For those unable to attend in person, the event will also be livestreamed, extending its reach far beyond Los Angeles.

As Pride Month approaches in June, the impact of this event will continue to resonate. The stories shared, the leaders honored, and the community strengthened at the JQ Impact Awards all contribute to a larger narrative, one rooted in courage, visibility, and collective progress.

The Hollywood Times is honored to cover this meaningful event and spotlight the individuals and organization driving real change in the LGBTQ+ and Jewish communities.
