Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times & Aspiring Magazine) 8/31/25 – On Saturday, October 11th, the City of West Hollywood partners with Catherine Gray and a powerful team of producers to launch LA Tech Week with a Triple Header Day of Women’s Empowerment Movies. The event, hosted at a West Hollywood venue, will spotlight women in film, business, and venture capital—while also honoring Emmy Award-winning actress Sharon Gless for her trailblazing career and contributions to women in entertainment and now in venture capital, among other award recipients to be announced.
The event begins with a networking breakfast and luncheon, giving attendees the opportunity to mingle with filmmakers, producers, investors, and community leaders. During the breakfast networking from 9-10 am – the first 100 ticket purchasers will receive a complimentary copy of the hardback book Show Her the Money, valued at $50. Guests will also have the rare chance to have their copy signed by the film’s executive producers, including Catherine Gray, Sharon Gless, Dawn LaFreeda, Diana Greshtchuck and others between 9–10 AM.
From there, the day moves into three back-to-back screenings, each followed by engaging panel discussions featuring film producers of SHOW HER THE MONEY, the Director Rachel Feldman of the movie LILLY, and Producers Gary Lane and Camille Hardman of THE MAKING OF 9-5.

In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Times, executive producer Catherine Gray shared her excitement for the October 11th celebration. “We designed this as more than just a film event—it’s a full empowerment day. Women, and the men who support them, will come together to talk about the underfunding of women in venture capital and equal pay and how we can shift that narrative. People do business with people they like and trust, so the networking piece is essential.”

Gray also noted the importance of inclusivity and accessibility: “Tickets are competitively priced, but we’re also working with the City of West Hollywood to provide a few free tickets for those who can’t afford them. We want this event to be open to everyone who wants to learn, connect, and contribute to women’s empowerment.”
After each movie, special awards will be given- recipients soon to be announced. Gray says, after our SHOW HER THE MONEY screening, Sharon Gless, best known for her iconic role in Cagney and Lacey, will be given a Legacy Award for your accomplishments in helping change the face of television for women and now for women in venture capital too.

“Sharon has truly changed the face of television and now venture capital for women. Honoring her at this event reminds us of how far we’ve come—and how much further we still need to go.”
