Vivian Trimble, the multi-hyphenate co-founder of NYC’s Luscious Jackson, left us on April 4, 2023. Luscious Jackson were KCRW mainstays in their ‘90s heyday, radiating a perfectly Gen X blend of effortless cool and wry self-effacement. In tribute, we’ve excavated Luscious Jackson’s remarkable first appearance on Morning Becomes Eclectic from November 1995. They perform acoustic versions of two truly deep cuts: “Radiating,” which appeared only as a B-side to their “CitySong” single, and “Celebrate My Bullet,” which was withdrawn from consideration for a soundtrack and never released.

The band performed live on Morning Becomes Eclectic three times from 1995 to 1999; prior to her departure in 1998, Trimble and bandmate Jill Cunniff also snuck in a 1996 appearance with their side project, Kostars.
