The Hollywood Times is honored to premiere The Kody Norris Show’s single “Ramblin’ Around” off their new album Highfalutin Hillbilly.  Enjoy it on YouTube:

“Man, what a ride this one has been,” shares Kody. “The making of Highfalutin Hillbilly has been a labor of love. Being back in the producer’s chair, along with Mary Rachel, also presented a great opportunity to tap into my creative side and pushed us to constantly improve on what we were working on.  I think The Kody Norris Show as a whole really pulled together on this and there was some magic created! Enjoy y’all!”

Here’s a quick Q&A with Kody Norris:

Judy Shields, The Hollywood Times:  Talk about your inspiration for Ramblin’ Around.

Kody Norris: Ramblin’ Around was one of the first songs I ever wrote. It was somewhat of a true life account of some of the events of my teenage years! My Ramblin spirit led me to so many places, meeting so many unique people along the way!

Judy Shields, The Hollywood Times: Did you choose to put it as your last track for the album and why?

Kody Norris: Yes, we did choose to end out the album with this particular song. With it being up tempo and in the key of B, it just seemed fitting!

Judy Shields, The Hollywood Times: How do you all keep coming up with such amazing Bluegrass music?

Kody Norris: It’s not always easy to keep the traditional values that make up bluegrass music, but we strive to keep a common dominator between the past while blazing new trails! We sure hope there are many more years to come!

Judy Shields, The Hollywood Times: “Ramblin’ Man” appears to feature the bands amazing talent, how fun was putting this together?

Kody Norris: I’ve always been a fan of any song that allows a band to showcase just what they can do. Anytime a song clicks on stage, it’s is sure to become an album favorite. Josiah’s banjo skills and tenor, mixed with Charlie’s on beat bass and Mary Rachel’s classy mandolin solo really bring the song to life.. you might even hear a couple G Runs on the guitar in there too!

Judy Shields, The Hollywood Times: Will there be a video for this song?  You are so clever with your videos!

Kody Norris: As of right now, we don’t have any video plans with this song in particular but you never know what might come down the pipeline!

The group continues to pay homage to the Grand Ole Opry for its 100th anniversary this year and to all of the legendary members who paved the way with their single “In The Circle,” which was written by close friend and Grand Ole Opry square dancer Larry Chunn. The song paints a portrait of a young dreamer’s perspective…bringing Kody’s story “full circle.”
