Hollywood, CA (The Hollywood Times) 7/27/25 – Friday night at Club Kookaburra was nothing short of electric. The atmosphere was buzzing from the moment the doors opened — a perfect blend of vintage cabaret glamour and modern edge, with just the right touch of mystery and mischief. The theme, Sultry Sweet: Burlesque, Cosplay & Corsets, delivered exactly what it promised — and then some.
Rob Steiner and his band were simply phenomenal. Their sound was polished yet soulful, with every note radiating energy and intention. Rob led the night with the kind of charisma that can’t be taught — smooth, commanding, and completely in sync with the crowd. The musicians behind him were equally talented, creating a lush, live soundtrack that elevated every moment on stage.
The vocalists? Absolute powerhouses. Their voices ranged from smoky jazz to full-throttle blues, seducing the room with every phrase. Each performance was delivered with passion and flair, making it feel like we were part of something truly special.
And then came the stars of the night — the burlesque dancers. Each one was a revelation: powerful, playful, and impeccably choreographed. These were not just dancers, but storytellers — using movement, expression, and jaw-dropping costuming to transport us to another world. The cosplay and corsetry added a fantastical twist to the classic burlesque aesthetic, making every act feel like a surprise waiting to unfold.
Club Kookaburra deserves its reputation as a haven for the bold, the creative, and the unapologetically glamorous. Last night’s show was a celebration of art, sensuality, and performance at its finest.
If you missed it — don’t make that mistake again. This is the kind of night that stays with you. Hope to see you August 29th.
