Special Screenings

In addition to the previously announced lineup of over 150 films, NashFilm will hold several special screening events, including a highly anticipated encore screening by popular demand of “OPRYLAND, USA: A CIRCLE BROKEN” at the Belcourt Theater on September 24 at 3 p.m.

Additionally, a presentation of “THE EASY KIND,” directed by Kate Chevigny, will be at Riverside Revival on September 22 at 7 p.m. Audiences will enjoy an exclusive musical performance by Charles Esten (“Nashville”,” Outer Banks”) following the screening.

As part of NashFilm’s Education Program, “SPEAK.,” directed by Jennifer Tiexiera and Guy Mossman, will screen on September 21 at the Regal Green Hills with a Q&A following the screening.

This moving documentary follows five of the nation’s top teenage speech competitors, capturing the euphoria of victory and the devastation of defeat as they craft and perform original oratories over the course of a 9-month season. Their dream is simple: To win the Super Bowl of public speaking, the NSDA Nationals. We witness them, their coaches and their parents as they fight to keep school speech programs alive amid budget cuts, book bans and censorship efforts that reach a fevered pitch during the 2024 election year.

During the festival, NashFilm  will welcome over 500 Metro Nashville Public Schools students, grades 7-12, to two private screenings of “SPEAK.” at the Frist Art Museum, followed by interactive Q&As with the film’s producer, Pamela Griner, and one of the film’s star speech competitors, Mfaz Mohamed Ali. This no-cost program eliminates barriers to world-class film and ensures the next generation of storytellers can be inspired by the art of cinema.
