Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 2/20/25 – The Belasco was electric as Miss Rita of The Pandora’s hosted a wild and unforgettable Lucha VaVoom event in honor of Los Angeles firefighters. The I Love LA Relief Benefit Extravaganza was packed with jaw-dropping entertainment, all in support of Grief and Hope, Best Friends Animal Society, and the Arc Fire-Fighter Fund—organizations aiding wildfire victims.
The night featured a legendary lineup, including Mike Hoffman, the ever-iconic Cape Congo Powers, and the incomparable Donita Sparks, who stunned in a gold ensemble fit for a queen as she rocked Walking in LA. The show delivered surprise after surprise, with Slim Jim Phantom taking the stage alongside his wife and daughter, performing the timeless Rock This Town. Meanwhile, Juanita and Juan delivered a soulful and heartfelt Chicano soul ballad, proving once again why Chicano soul is an unbeatable genre.
A Night of Wrestling, Music, and Pure Mayhem
As expected, Lucha VaVoom did not disappoint, delivering its signature mix of over-the-top lucha libre wrestling, burlesque, slapstick comedy, and jaw-dropping choreography. Every act was a spectacle, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.
With the insanity set to continue, Lucha VaVoom de La Liz is gearing up for its March Madness spectacular on March 6 at The Mayan Theatre, featuring none other than international wrestling star TJP.
Miss Rita and her crew have once again proven why Lucha VaVoom remains one of LA’s most outrageous and beloved events. Last night was one for the books—pure chaos, pure fun, and pure LA!
