On a nostalgic evening at AMC The Grove 14 in Los Angeles, the deep connection and love of Hollywood royalty were on full display. Goldie Hawn joined her daughter, Kate Hudson, to celebrate the actor’s remarkable achievement in the Focus Features film Song Sung Blue, in which she plays Claire Sardina. What began as a screening of a must-see true-life musical drama grew into an even more moving meditation on family, resilience, and the reality of growing up in the spotlight.
The discussion took an emotional turn when Goldie revealed how much the film touched her husband, the famous actor Kurt Russell. Goldie shared that during the first screening, Russell was verklempt: he did not want her to see him cry. Getting up, he walked out of the screening room for a few minutes to regain his composure. Indeed, it turns out Russell was particularly struck by the entrance of Hugh Jackman’s character into Claire Sardina’s family. Goldie mentioned how that entry mirrored his own journey into Goldie’s life and becoming a devoted stepfather to Kate and her brother, Oliver.

She praised his generosity and the way he allowed her on-screen relationship with Hugh Jackman to evolve naturally.
