A Conversation with Darryl Worley about his newest venture, Darryl Worley’s “Awful Beautiful Life” Luxury Tiny Home Resort in Enterprise, Alabama

Enterprise, AL – Tiny living…it’s the hot new trend that many people are embracing!  It’s also a good alternative to overnight hotel stays with more amenities. Now, in Enterprise, Alabama, which is located in the middle of a 75-mile corridor where 12 million cars pass through annually on their way to the Florida Panhandle, Darryl Worley’s “Awful Beautiful Life” Luxury Tiny Home Resort has broken ground and is scheduled to open in late Spring 2026.

Located within miles of Fort Rucker, Darryl Worley’s “Awful Beautiful Life” Luxury Tiny Home Resort will offer short-term/convenient lodging for government contractors, flight graduation class family members and guests, as well as those visiting the Army Aviation Museum.

“I won’t forget getting that phone call from my dear friend Ronnie Gilley as he shared this incredible vision with last year.  I’ve done lots of good things with Ronnie, but this one sparked something in me as I knew we could help the families of those stationed at Fort Rucker,” says country music star Darryl Worley.  “We’re building a project that’s a two-for-one for the military.  One, there is a constant need for short-term lodging due to the constant in and out flow to and from the base and, two, we are building a lifestyle community with 5 star amenities, while also delivering a home option for the military at an incredibly affordable price.”

Darryl Worley’s “Awful Beautiful Life” Luxury Tiny Home Resort will include 75 tiny homes, a resort lagoon pool, dog walking park, and more!  Though the floor plans are compact, guests won’t have to sacrifice having friends over or entertaining. The unit is designed for comfort with a bedroom downstairs, kitchen, sitting area, and a covered porch with large overhang meaning guests can utilize outdoor living spaces during different weather conditions.  Other specific amenities will include an event center, fully equipped fitness center, pickleball court, cornhole court, a clubhouse, and a chill lounge.  The entire area will have a 24/7 security gate entrance for privacy and safety.

Here is the conversation we had:

THT Judy Shields (JS): Today we are so excited to welcome on the show Darryl Worley. Hi Darryl, how are you doing?

Darryl Worley (DW): I’m doing great, how are you?

JS: Very good, he’s a country music hit maker.  We’re so excited to talk to him today. Got a few things to talk about with you. You’ve been sort of busy, haven’t you?

DW: We stay busy.  That’s a good thing, it keeps me out of trouble. I guess so.

JS: Tell me about this luxury tiny home community and resort.  It sounds amazing. What is that?

DW: How much time do you have?

JS: Oh, all day.

DW: I’ve been talking about it all morning and the problem is trying to get the information in, you know, into 10 or 15 minutes.  So a close friend of mine, Ronnie Gailey down in South Alabama called me back, I don’t know, a couple years ago and probably more like a year and a half. He had this, he said, I’ve got a new vision. So he and I have done a bunch of projects together in the last 20, 25 years, more down in his area, that southern Alabama region.

Some developments, real estate projects, all kinds of different stuff. And I said, okay, yeah, sure. I want to hear about it.  So we went down and without a doubt, this is the most unique thing that he’s ever come up with. And I said, yes, I will. I would definitely want to be involved.  And somehow or another, I got myself into this position where I’m sort of like the spokesperson. And he also, you know, said, I’ll use your name and likeness and we will. So this first phase of this development is called Daryl Worley’s Awful Beautiful Life Luxury Tiny Home Resort.  And you said it when you introduced it a moment ago, you said a community. And it definitely is a community, and it is a lifestyle. Because it’s far enough south, the landscape is beautiful.

It’s all tropical, you know, a lot of palm trees. The tiny homes are, we literally build them ourselves on site. And there’s going to be 71 or 72, I think, in this first development phase.  And look, tiny homes are amazing. I think people are finding that there’s a lot of freedom in downsizing. But the coolest thing about this property, for me at least, are the amenities.

Because once you get your home there, or if you’re just, it’s actually going to be operated like a lodging. So think of it as a hotel, or I guess I could say a motel, because it is horizontal. But once you get in there, whether you’re a permanent resident or someone who’s staying for a couple nights, the amenities are five-star resort amenities.  That’s the difference in going somewhere downtown and staying at a 2.5-star hotel. We get a fitness room, and it’s a rubber ball and a five-pound dumbbell. So we have, help me list all these.  We have a lagoon pool that is insane. It’s like a resort pool.  It’s got waterfalls, you know, all around. This one has something I’ve never seen. There’s a shallow part of the pool where you have high-top tables and little pedestals that you can sit on.

They have a full-blown fitness center, pickleball courts, a doggy park for people with pets. They have a cornhole park, a tiki bar. Oh, it’s cool because this one is real close to where we’re going to school.  Right now in this first phase of our development we’re selling a tiny home for $89,000. And that’s kind of an incredible price point.

It’s just so out of the ordinary to quote that price to somebody for a home. If you want it fully furnished with all the different things that we offer with electronics and decor. We can fully furnish it and sell it to you for $99,000.  I would say to people that the $99,000 is a better deal. Because we’re doing so many of them. An average person can’t walk in and buy the stuff that we’re buying for a lot cheaper.  So the extra $10,000 is absolutely worth it. When you walk in and see what we’ve done with them. And like I said, the amenity package.

They’re selling them about as fast as we can build them. And we have sold two at a time to investors. Because we have what’s called a management option.  Go get your financing and get set up to pay your monthly payment. We’ve already done the numbers in the enterprise area. And you can pay your monthly payment on this tiny home.  And cash flow about $1,700 a month. That’s based on a market average. And the truth is, that’s like what you would make if you owned a room in a 2.5-star hotel in that area.

But the way Enterprise, Alabama is geographically located, there’s a corridor there where everyone who goes to the panhandle of Florida goes right through there. And so we did the numbers several years ago. It’s probably more like $20 million now.  But at the time we did the numbers it was 18 million plus people that traveled through there to get to the panhandle of Florida a year. And that’s a lot of people. We know that that’s going to be part of our demographic as well.

JS: So, this is amazing, you know, and especially for the military because as I know you’ve been on the USO and the Stars and Stripes tours and that must have been very exciting for you.

DW:  It was a good time. Very surreal.  I grew up in a very military-oriented family and having the opportunity to go and experience that was… It’s hard to put it into words. Just very surreal. I mean, quite a blessing.  Probably my favorite in the journeys of all my career.

JS:  Very good. Well, I know you’re also going to be celebrating your hit song, “Have You Forgotten?” You know, it’s hard to believe that 9-11 happened 25 years ago.  Let’s schedule us a video Zoom interview when it gets closer to that date so we can talk all about that since we’ve taken up time to talk about your new, “Awful, Beautiful Life” Luxury Tiny Home Community.

DW: We’ve got several different projects starting off at the same time so that way I can give you a little update and then we can talk about music again.

JS: We’ll do that so we can bring Hollywood out there to Alabama and get people to come out and visit your place. That’d be awesome. Oh yeah, we will do that.

Well, we’re so excited that you were able to join us today on the Hollywood Times and we look forward to meeting you in person here soon then. Thank you so much. We appreciate you calling.

DW: Absolutely. Take care.  Bye for now.

“You know, the previous administration drove home prices and interest rates through the roof. That prompted Ronnie to come up with a very special, unique and different product that is going to be a perfect fit for our military!,” adds Worley.  “I might also add, the lifestyle Awful Beautiful Life Resort is creating will also be very inviting to the massive migration of retirees that are moving south in record-breaking numbers!”

About Darryl Worley:
Worley debuted on the country charts with a trio of top-15 hits in 2000-01, “When You Need My Love,” “A Good Day to Run” and “Second Wind.” His breakthrough year was 2002 when Worley’s touching ballad “I Miss My Friend,” the title tune to his second CD, became his first No. 1 hit. After he spent Christmas 2002 entertaining America’s troops in Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Uzbekistan, he came home and wrote the patriotic anthem “Have You Forgotten?,” which became his second No. 1 song and remained at the top of the charts for six weeks. In the summer of 2004, “Awful Beautiful Life” was released and soon rocketed up the country music charts to become a multi-week No. 1. Darryl has continued to release albums and participate in philanthropic endeavors.
