Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 10/3/25The newly minted Film Festival at Hollywood Park (formerly the DTLA Film Festival) has unveiled its Opening, Closing, and Centerpiece films along with a stellar lineup of features set to make their Los Angeles theatrical premieres. The festival will run October 6–12, 2025 at Hollywood Park, establishing itself as a dynamic new showcase for diverse voices in cinema.

The festival kicks off with a splash on Tuesday, October 7 with the red-carpet world premiere of Becoming Vera, Sergio Vizuete’s indie drama that currently holds a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating. The tender coming-of-age story, led by breakout star Raquel Lebish, has earned widespread early acclaim for its emotional clarity and nuanced storytelling.

On Friday, October 10, the festival hosts a red-carpet gala for its Centerpiece film Kaishaku, Harry Locke IV’s horror-drama starring Stefanie Estes and Alyshia Ochse. The Closing Night spotlight on Sunday, October 12 will feature the U.S. festival premiere of Clint Eastwood: A Life in Film, an intimate portrait of the legendary filmmaker shot at his ranch in Carmel, California.

The 2025 lineup boasts more than 50 feature-length films including Animals in War starring Sean Penn, Room to Move with Amy Schumer, Blue Road: The Edna O’Brien Story featuring Jessie Buckley and Gabriel Byrne, Gallagher with Robin Riker, Howie Mandel, Jimmy Kimmel, and Carrot Top, Ugly Little Monkeys featuring Linda Ronstadt and produced by Edward James Olmos, and Once Within A Time, produced by Steven Soderbergh.

A special sidebar honors Oscar-recipient Charles Burnett with screenings of The Annihilation of Fish (James Earl Jones, Lynn Redgrave) and The Glass Shield (Ice Cube, Lori Petty, Michael Boatman, Richard Anderson), the latter returning to Los Angeles for the first time since its 1995 release.

Presented by Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas US and Hollywood Park, with additional sponsorship from Hyatt Regency LAX and others, the festival builds on the legacy of the Silver Lake and DTLA film festivals while forging a new identity as Los Angeles’ home for independent cinema.
