The Hollywood Times Proudly Supports the 2026 Ice Cream Festival Celebrating Community, Creativity, and a Good Cause

Palm Springs, CA (The Hollywood Times) 11/1/26 – A little rain wasn’t going to stop Palm Springs from enjoying one of the sweetest events of the season! The SCOOP Palm Springs Ice Cream Festival returned to Downtown Park on Sunday, November 1, bringing together ice cream lovers, local businesses, families, and friends for an afternoon of delicious frozen treats and community celebration.

Presented by Holland America, the festival invited attendees to sample a variety of ice cream creations while supporting the important work of the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert.

Despite the unusually cloudy skies and occasional rain, the festival brought a welcome dose of sweetness to downtown Palm Springs as the city prepared for its 40th anniversary Pride celebration.

SCOOP Palm Springs is more than an ice cream festival. It’s an opportunity to bring people together while supporting an organization that provides valuable programs, resources, and services to the Coachella Valley community.

The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, affectionately known as The Center, continues to play an important role in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for residents and visitors alike.

What better way to support a good cause than by enjoying ice cream?

Guests had the opportunity to discover different flavors, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and spend time with friends and neighbors in the heart of downtown Palm Springs.

As a media sponsor, The Hollywood Times was delighted to be part of this year’s festival alongside fellow sponsors Oasis Magazine and Yelp.

It was especially nice to see The Hollywood Times recognized on the festival’s sponsor signage, reflecting our continued commitment to supporting community events, entertainment, arts, culture, and LGBTQ+ organizations throughout Palm Springs and beyond.

We always enjoy covering events that bring people together while making a positive difference, and SCOOP certainly fits that description.

Palm Springs is famous for its sunshine, so the gray skies and rainy conditions were certainly an unexpected addition to this year’s festivities.

But even with the damp weather, guests made their way through Downtown Park, stopping at festival booths, checking out the participating vendors, and enjoying the afternoon.

The colorful SCOOP tents, palm trees, and downtown setting provided a wonderful backdrop for an event that celebrates the fun and simple pleasure of ice cream.

And let’s face it, ice cream tastes good in just about any weather!

With Palm Springs Pride just around the corner, SCOOP offered another opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the diversity and generosity that make this desert destination so special.

As Palm Springs prepares for its milestone 40th Pride anniversary, events like SCOOP remind us that community celebrations can be both fun and meaningful.

Congratulations to the organizers, volunteers, participating businesses, sponsors, and everyone who helped make SCOOP Palm Springs 2026 possible.

The Hollywood Times was proud to support this sweet community tradition, and we look forward to seeing it continue to grow.

After all, the festival’s message says it best: Do Good. Eat Ice Cream!
