I recently had the opportunity to interview Sarah Ann Mayer, an emerging talent in the film industry. She made her film debut alongside Hollywood icon Mel Gibson in the 2025 film “Hunting Season,” where she plays the character Alice. In addition to her acting role, Mayer also served as an executive producer on the film, which is directed by RJ Collins. During our conversation, she shared her unique experience of simultaneously producing and acting, expressing her passion for both roles.
Following “Hunting Season,” Mayer took on the role of executive producer for “Carousel,” where she had a small part as a ticket agent and filmed a scene with Chris Pine, an actor she admires since his performance in “Wonder Woman.” She is currently wrapping up a project and is engaged in a top-secret endeavor in North Carolina, with several other projects on the horizon.
Mayer is also involved in an upcoming film titled “Best Pancakes in the Country.” To my surprise, she revealed that it is an action film rather than a documentary about pancakes, which I had initially presumed. She has expressed plans to relocate to Los Angeles to be closer to industry opportunities. I look forward to meeting her in person for a deeper discussion about her future films and career trajectory.
