Hollywood, CA – NOVEMBER 10, 2025 – The inaugural edition of the Polish Film Festival North America—Hollywood rolls out the red carpet in the city of Angels lighting up screens November 12 through 18 with a weeklong celebration of acclaimed Polish cinema, international guests, special events and cultural exchange.

The Hollywood edition is part of the national Polish Film Festival North America which also screens in New York, Chicago, and Miami.
The Polish Film Festival North America: Hollywood launches its inaugural season with a red-carpet Opening Night Gala screening of Chopin, Chopin by director Michał Kwieciński, starring Eryk Kulm (Filip, Boxer) and Victor Meutelet (Fall for Me). The historical drama explores the inner world of the legendary composer during his Paris years and opens the festival on Wednesday, November 12 at 8:00 p.m. at the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills, with arrivals set at 6:30 p.m. with VIP reception before the screening. Claudia Fortunato (Vortex), Hugo Cremaschi (Karaoké) and Rober Koch, (film’s composer) are expected to attend the opening night gala screening.
Moderated by Didier Allouch, the celebrated French journalist and iconic voice of international cinema.
Mid-festival audiences will also experience two of this year’s most talked-about features, Home Sweet Home (Dom Dobry) by celebrated filmmaker Wojciech Smarzowski, whose provocative storytelling and striking visual style have earned him recognition at festivals worldwide. This long-awaited film will screen on November 15, at 7:30 PM. As well as The Partisan, directed by James Marquand and starring Morgan Polanski and Malcom McDowell, a gripping film that explores the tension during World War II between loyalty, identity, and sacrifice of a Polish countess who risks everything to outsmart the Nazi regime. This will screen on November 16 at 7:30 PM. Both will play at the Marilyn Monroe Theater, 7936 Santa Monica Blvd, in West Hollywood.
The week culminates with the Closing Night Gala screening of Franz (Franz Kafka), directed by Agnieszka Holland, Poland’s official submission for the 98th Academy Awards. The film had its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and also screened at San Sebastian, Rio Dejaneiro, Chicago, and the Gdynia Film Festival. The film will screen on Tuesday, November 18 at the Hollywood Museum (1660 Highland Ave.), followed by a Q&A with Idan Weiss, who portrays Franz Kafka in the film and a Closing Night Gala and festival awards ceremony. Moderated by Monika Ekiert, the festival director. Arrivals: 6 PM: Screening 7:00 PM.
