Reflecting on the quick turn around between seasons, Gemmill emphasized how the pace has fueled the show’s creative energy, saying, “It feels good – I love the momentum. We don’t get a chance to get tired, we just keep going.” Wyle echoed the sentiment, revealing that work is already underway on what’s next: “It’s really amazing, we’re already back in the writers’ room writing episodes for the next season.”

The conversation also touched on the real life healthcare workers who have helped the cast shape their performances, with Wyle noting, “I have absolutely been the beneficiary of an incredible amount of insight from the doctors and nurses we work with.”

LaNasa continued that the nurses she worked with closely resemble her own experience, sharing, “they’re about my age and they look like me,” and recalled how one of them told her that “she wouldn’t do what she did if it wasn’t at a county hospital.”

“I have to give a shout out to our special effects and makeup team,” Wyle also exclaimed during the conversation, highlighting the practical effects of the series.  LaNasa added that “people watch and just assume it’s CGI, but they build everything for us,” while Dearden remarked that “everything is so finely done,” calling the special effects team “little wizards.”
