“We believe health is not the absence of disease. Health is the abundance of vitality.” — Dr. Darshan Shaw of Next Health
On a bright June morning in Playa Vista, a group of investors and healthcare innovators gathered at Verizon’s Innovation Lab, eager to learn how to live not just longer, but better. That’s the world Elias Arjan, founder of Healthspan Productions, is building.
Without question, the spacious, modern workshops of Verizon’s Innovation Lab Los Angeles in Playa Vista proved to be the perfect location for the 2nd annual Longevity Leadership Conference. Co-hosted by Adam Torres and Chirag Sagar, the co-founders of Mission Matters Media, the two-day event (June 5-6, 2025) was the place to be to learn that the next generation of scientific revolutions, which will transform human health, is not waiting in the wings, but rather happening today.
Elias Arjan founded Healthspan Productions to raise awareness and promote the latest innovations through media opportunities and by hosting groundbreaking events. From the beginning of his journey, Elias has believed that longevity must be about more than just extending the human lifespan.
A longer life means little without the vitality and richness of good health. Hence, longevity and good health are forever partners in the journey of optimizing the potential of homo sapiens.
Recognizing the multidimensional challenges of such biological optimization, Elias Arjan understands the importance of collaborating with partners to address these challenges. After all, nobody can cover everything, and the true goal is continually learning as a lifelong student in the diverse and intricate field of longevity. Partnering with Mission Matters Media ensured the conference was rooted in cutting-edge entrepreneurial vision.
Isn’t it inspiring when a bold game plan becomes reality?
In his keynote, “How Longevity Is Changing Our World,” Elias Arjan highlighted how clinical research, biotechnology, and personalized health are converging. The goal? Not just to add years to life, but to add life to those years. Elias illustrated how the forefront of evidence-based wellness and clinical research is coming together to optimize breakthroughs in biotechnology, regenerative medicine, and personalized health.
By extending both lifespan and healthspan, the new modalities can help humans to live longer and better lives.
However, we still have a long way to go. Although 82% of Americans consider wellness a priority, a deeper understanding of the conceptual framework of longevity remains in its early stages of development. The language needs to become commonplace.
The Longevity Movement hopes to shift away from the current MAGA rhetoric of “Make America Great Again” to a MAHA perspective, meaning “Make America Healthy Again.” Moreover, while many dream of living to 100 in good health, the reality is sobering—only 0.02% of the population reaches the century mark.

With this in mind, the conference prioritized practical, solution-driven discussions rather than being overwhelmed by the macrocosm of aging science. Heather and John Hiemstra of Rockstar Blends focus on utilizing the endocannabinoid system to develop products that enhance sexual experiences for both men and women.
Another booth by their side featured Precision Bone Imaging, a medical diagnostic center that uses the latest imaging technologies to address the loss of bone density and quality that happens as humans age. As only two of the many providers in the Onsite Health Services room at the conference, such services give a sense of the diverse offerings in the longevity industry.
Focusing on expanding access to Longevity services, Jeff Wills of BOD (Body Overview Data) discussed the challenges of making advanced body scanning technology accessible to everyone. By determining their lean mass and body fat percentages, a person can set realistic fitness and health goals.

With a willingness to deliver seventeen biomarkers at an affordable cost, Jeff Wills is part of Elias Arjan’s vision to transform lifespan into healthspan. Like all the presenters, Jeff passionately believes in the democratization of the Longevity industry. He wants to help America overcome the barriers to achieving a healthy lifestyle.
All of this, and so much more, happened on the first day of the Longevity Leadership Conference. There was also a powerful presentation by John Funkhouser of the Verizon Business Group about how 5G emerging technologies optimize longevity innovations by fostering connections and providing real-time data support.
Indeed, the Innovation Lab Los Angeles elevated the conference with real-time tech applications and inspired design.
Although Day Two also overflowed with incredible presentations, the highlight was Elias Arjan’s interview with Dr. Darshan Shah of Next Health. Focusing on the guiding principles of the company’s place in both the healthcare and longevity medicine worlds, Dr. Shah demonstrated how sustainable growth must employ safeguards to remain ethical and of high quality.
When it comes to longevity healthcare services, excellence is not an option; it is a necessity.
Furthermore, Dr. Shah explained the process of franchising Next Health locations nationwide with Elias. When opening a new health optimization and longevity center, healthcare professionals accept the standards and oversight of the founders, including Dr. Shah and co-founder Kevin Peake.

Next Health’s longevity therapies, which promote better health, require a shift in the traditional healthcare narrative. There must be a process in place to empower patients within the system. Moreover, vetting and research will always be organizational priorities.
In any healthcare business, health and care must remain the top priorities.
As Dr. Shah illuminates, “I wanted to reimagine how patients interact with the healthcare system. Our model is based around being a more active participant in your own health. It is both encouraging and humbling for me to see people come in every day and say, ‘You’ve changed my life.’ That’s what gives us the drive to move forward and do more with Next Health.”
Indeed, changing and radically improving lives is the motivation behind the work of the longevity industry across the board. As a pioneer in the field, Elias Arjan understands that the work is just beginning and needs to continue expanding.

Hence, he is looking forward to the 2025 Healthspan Summit & Festival to be held at UCLA South Bay in Rancho Palos Verdes. Taking place over three days from October 3rd to 5th, the summit focuses on personalized, preventative, and accessible longevity.
If you are going to be in Southern California in October, this experience is not to be missed. Moreover, regardless of where they live in the country or the world, healthcare professionals in the longevity field should begin planning their trips today.
As Elias Arjan expresses with a contagious passion:
“The Healthspan Summit is the premier gathering where science meets lifestyle, uniting the worlds of personalized medicine, regenerative therapies, AI, biotech, nutrition, mental health, and wellness into one dynamic ecosystem.”
As the longevity field expands from a niche interest to a mainstream movement, pioneers like Elias Arjan, Dr. Darshan Shaw, and the diverse array of providers are laying the foundation for a future where vibrant health is not just a privilege but a viable possibility for all.
