Anaheim, CA (The Hollywood Times) 2/5/26 – Always a highlight to kick off the year, The NAMM Show once again proved why it remains the heartbeat of the global music gear community. This year’s show was a massive success, with a palpable sense of growth and momentum everywhere you turned; more exhibits, more events, and more buzz than ever before.
Often referred to as “The Super Bowl and World Cup of Music Gear,” NAMM delivered on all fronts, featuring countless RockStar sightings and jaw-dropping performances throughout the show floor. After covering The NAMM Show for over 40 years, it was especially exciting to feel the renewed energy and upswing, a powerful reminder of just how alive and thriving this industry truly is.
We had the pleasure of speaking with many standout exhibitors, including Lee Oskar, legendary harmonica player of WAR and founder of Lee Oskar Harmonicas. He shared the excitement surrounding his recent Hollywood Walk of Fame Star induction—a celebration that famously shut down Hollywood Boulevard with a spectacular display of custom lowrider cars in front of Amoeba Records, hosted by George Lopez.
Lee also premiered the brand-new Lowrider Model Harmonica, a perfect fusion of musical innovation and cultural celebration.
Another annual favorite was catching up with Marc from Minarik Guitars, who once again stunned attendees with their extraordinary custom guitars and illuminated lightbox displays, including a show-stopping Wizard of Oz edition that drew crowds all weekend.
A major highlight was visiting the booth of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jack White and his forward-thinking company Third Man Electronics, showcasing innovative gear designed by musicians, for musicians. Their presence reinforced NAMM’s role as a launchpad for creativity and cutting-edge sound.
Equally impressive was the expansive Yamaha complex on the third floor of the Anaheim Convention Center. Guided tours by Yamaha’s resident pros highlighted everything from drums, keyboards, guitars, and mixers to the company’s ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation.
The excitement carried into Friday night with unforgettable Ultimate Gig performances in the Arena, an iconic space that once hosted legendary concerts in the ’60s and ’70s, bridging music’s past, present, and future in true NAMM fashion.
WOW, what a show. We highly recommend everyone start planning now for NAMM 2027, because we’ll absolutely be back, covering it in a big way.
