Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 12/19/25 – Introducing Michaela Hayes, an author, cultural commentator, disability advocate, and recent honors graduate from Full Sail University, one of Billboard’s top ranking business schools for the entertainment industry. Michaela Hayes describes herself as someone who leads with empathy, humor, and intention. She strives to be a good listener and a supportive friend, and her creative work ranges from real-talk blogs designed to inspire growth to humorous, romantic, thrilling, and lightly erotic fiction. Her readers are already encouraging her to step into the action-drama world next.
For Michaela Hayes, writing is not just creative expression. It is a lifeline. She lives with ataxia, a rare and progressive neurological disorder that affects balance, speech, coordination, and fine motor skills (National Ataxia Foundation, 2025). Her symptoms vary from day to day, and she often finds herself alert to dangers that others may not notice. In the midst of these challenges, writing became a coping mechanism and the safest place she knows.
“I write fiction mostly because I want to be that person that helps people escape,” she says. “I want to be that safe haven for people.”
Michaela Hayes recently celebrated a milestone that holds deep personal significance. She graduates with honors on November 24 and became the first black woman in her family to achieve this level of academic success while stepping directly into her career at The Liberty Network. She hopes her journey serves as encouragement for chronically ill and disabled students who face systemic and daily barriers to education, showing them that their goals are still possible. As Michaela Hayes is beginning her professional path with The Liberty Network, she will combine her writing, cultural analysis, and advocacy with her upcoming articles, published on both her personal website and The Liberty Network’splatform where you can explore media, pop culture, and activism for disability awareness.

Looking ahead, Michaela Hayes is committed to pushing for stronger representation of disabled artists in the entertainment industry. She advocates for inclusive hiring practices and believes that disabled actors, musicians, writers, and creators should be selected for roles and opportunities that too often default to able-bodied or neurotypical performers. With a clear mission and a powerful voice, Michaela Hayes is emerging as a writer and advocate with the potential to reshape conversations in the communities she serves and Hollywood!
