LOS ANGELES — Who says Halloween is just about ghosts, goblins, and finding Prince Charming? Sometimes, darling, it’s about taking off the mask and finding your voice!
On October 31, I attended the glamorous House Foster Royal Masquerade Ball at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The Bridgerton-inspired celebration brought together royalty, elegance, philanthropy, and enough fabulous fashion to make even Queen Charlotte jealous!
The evening was hosted by Seatrice Foster, Managing Partner of House Foster Family Office and the visionary behind House Foster Royal Weekend.
But behind the beautiful gowns, mysterious masks, and royal atmosphere was a much more meaningful purpose: supporting At Nicky’s House, a nonprofit dedicated to helping survivors of domestic violence and their families.
And naturally, yours truly, Josie Goldberg of The Hollywood Times, was there to discover what was happening behind those mysterious masks. After all, Only Josie Knows!
Top of the Line PR helped coordinate the evening’s red-carpet media activities, adding that special Hollywood touch.

One of the highlights of my evening was interviewing Rhonda Swan, entrepreneur and branding expert, who also welcomed guests on the Royal Red Carpet alongside Hollywood Minute.

During our conversation, Rhonda shared a powerful message about domestic violence, a subject that too often remains hidden behind closed doors.
She explained that many women are afraid to speak openly about their experiences with abuse, but she believes that sharing your story can be an important part of the healing process.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is something worth celebrating!
Another meaningful moment came when Hazel Ortega, recognized as Diamond Winner of the Year, received a Lifetime Achievement Award honoring her contributions and legacy.

The evening’s mission was especially personal for Seatrice Foster, herself a survivor of domestic violence. She created Royal Weekend to combine celebration, community, and empowerment while raising awareness for a cause close to her heart.
A portion of the proceeds was designated to benefit At Nicky’s House, helping provide survivors and their families with access to shelter, resources, and support.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I love a fabulous gown, a handsome prince, and a little royal attention. But the most beautiful accessory a woman can wear isn’t a diamond necklace or a designer dress.
It’s her courage!

And while Halloween gives us an excuse to hide behind glamorous masks, this extraordinary evening reminded us that sometimes the most empowering thing we can do is take them off.
Because every woman deserves to feel safe, supported, and heard.
And remember, darling, you don’t need a crown to be a queen!
Until next time, Only Josie Knows!
