At the start of Spring in Los Angeles welcomed a new culinary gem Gott’s Roadside officially opened its doors at The Original Farmers Market on 3rd & Fairfax. Back in March media were hosted with signature dishes, it was tasty experience! Since opening, it has quickly become a popular casual dining hot spot among locals and visitors alike.
From Napa to LA: A Beloved California Classic Comes to Town
Founded in 1999 in St. Helena, CA, by brothers Joel and Duncan Gott, Gott’s Roadside quickly grew into a cult favorite known for its fresh, locally sourced ingredients and modern take on American comfort food. Taking over a historic spot that dates back to 1949, the new LA location marked a major milestone for the brand as it expanded beyond wine country to become part of Los Angeles’ iconic food scene.
The atmosphere was buzzing the moment we arrived. The new restaurant nestled next to the Farmers Market West Patio, at The Grove, features a bright, welcoming design with communal seating and a large outdoor patio -ideal for enjoying LA’s sunshine while savoring great food. The interior’s modern roadside aesthetic, crafted by BCV Architecture & Interiors, created a relaxed yet stylish vibe that encourages lingering and socializing.
The Menu is Full of American Classics, Fish and Vegetarian options, there are a variety of dishes, each one delivered on flavor and quality. They serve signature burgers, like the Double Cheeseburger, looked juicy and Seafood options, including the Ahi Poke Crispy Tacos and Asado Fish Tacos, are delicious showcased fresh, high-quality ingredients that elevates traditional favorites. The seasonal Maine Lobster BLT, with its herby lemon mayo is also, a popular dish along with their comforting French Dip, packed with tender, house-braised beef.
Vegetarians and plant-based eaters have plenty of choices. The Impossible™ Burger and Impossible™ Chicken Nuggets were satisfying, while the Falafel Salad with lemon tahini dressing, spiced chickpeas, and fresh veggies was flavorful and filling. And for a sweet finish, the soft-serve was a nostalgic treat — Strauss organic vanilla and chocolate cones topped with fun toppings.
Refreshing Drinks and California Wines. The beverage menu is equally impressive. We enjoyed house-made lemonades, organic shakes, and floats, alongside a curated list of Napa Valley wines, including Joel Gott Wines, Rombauer, and Caymus. Local draft beers from Beachwood and Golden Road complemented the menu, along with spritzes like the Margarita and Paloma Spritz, perfect for warm LA days.
Gott’s Roadside at Farmers Market is a perfect addition to the LA dining scene offering a casual yet elevated experience that celebrates California’s fresh ingredients and vibrant community.
Looking ahead, later this summer, Gott’s will open another location in Santa Monica, making it even more convenient for LA residents and visitors to enjoy their popular fare. — Gott’s is now open daily from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm for dine-in and takeout. It’s definitely a new spot to add to your LA food adventures.
