Palm Springs, CA (The Hollywood Times) 8/2/26 – My dear friend Kate Castle understands that Palm Springs is about far more than beautiful homes, swimming pools and mountain views. It’s true character comes from the people who live, work and support one another here.
Castle brings those stories to television as a host and segment producer for American Dream TV’s “Selling Palm Springs.” A Palm Springs real estate professional, she uses the series to highlight the architecture, businesses, community leaders and residents who make the Coachella Valley unique.
“My passion is to share with people all that is great about living life,” Castle said during our recent interview for The Hollywood Times and Aspiring Magazine.

Castle was approached by producers and invited to interview for the hosting opportunity. She expected a private meeting but instead found herself in a room filled with other real estate professionals.
She did not believe she would be selected, but she connected with American Dream TV’s positive mission of celebrating homeownership, community and life throughout the United States.
When producers called to offer her the position as the female host of “Selling Palm Springs,” Castle could hardly believe it.
“Me? Who, who, me?” she remembered asking.
Although television initially pushed her outside her comfort zone, Castle quickly found her voice as both a host and storyteller.
Castle develops and pitches her own story ideas while working closely with the program’s national producers. She personally selects the people and organizations she wants to feature.
Her interview process begins with one question: What makes this person special?
Castle discusses each story with her guests before filming, asks what they would like to highlight and develops a storyboard with the production team. She also leaves room for unexpected questions and spontaneous reactions.
That approach helps her guests relax and allows their personalities to come through naturally.
Castle works with an Emmy-nominated videographer who travels to Palm Springs to film her segments. Each shoot lasts approximately four hours, followed by two to three weeks of editing by the national production team.
Castle identifies the most important themes and reviews the developing segment, but the editors ultimately assemble the final program.
“It always blows my mind, because it comes out much better than I had even envisioned,” she said.
The entire process, from selecting a subject to airing the completed segment, can take approximately three months.
Two of Castle’s segments have already received additional national exposure.
Her feature about preserving Palm Springs open space and Oswit Canyon was picked up by CNBC, while her segment about Palm Springs modernism was selected by the Travel Channel.
“I’ve already had two of my shows picked up,” Castle said. “I’m blown away.”

An upcoming episode featuring Palm Springs restaurateurs Mindy Reed and Liz Ostoich is scheduled to air August 15. Castle was especially moved by the friendship and support the two women demonstrated while coordinating the production.
Castle believes real estate is about more than property.
“It’s really a choice about being a part of a community,” she said.
She describes Palm Springs as a place of “unique homes, unique people,” where striking architecture exists alongside a strong culture of kindness and mutual support.
Each segment has become meaningful to Castle because her guests trust her to share their stories.
“When you see them as humans making a difference and see the homes that give us a safe place to live, where we can feel real, where we can feel loved and supported, it all means something,” she said.
Viewers can watch Castle’s segments on the Kate Castle / Palm Springs Team YouTube channel or through the American Dream TV app on Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Castle is a dear friend who continually inspires me, and I am proud to see her sharing the people, places and stories that make Palm Springs feel like home.
