Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 6/9/26 – Actor Johnny Depp is letting his flag fly as the force behind the JOHNNY DEPP THE PEOPLE’S ARTIST
competition.
This exciting project invited visual artists to present
their creative selves to the world. With hopes of
recognition and reward, artistic and financial.
The “Holy Grail” is the opportunity to be named
@official peoples artist; appear in @artform
magazine, display work at the Art of Elysium’s Art
Salon in Los Angeles and take home a nifty $25,000.
Full disclosure: as an artist in my own right, I toyed
with entering this incredible campaign, but got cold
feet. And late registration was looming.
I do however know at least two fellow artists who
have entered the competition to be voted for.
Faith Butterfield, animation artist (and much more)
and Valerie Kobabe, painter. They got my vote/s.
Both women. For their talent and tenacity. Faith
creates art to help her cope with autism, “because I
was very different growing up” and she wants to
give hope to the neurodivergent community.
Valerie is also gallery owner (Snapdragon Healing
Arts Center).
Johnny Depp is also a popular visual artist,
renowned for his expressive- and impressive- pop
art. He is also a musician and the face of Dior
Sauvage fragrance (eau de parfam) products.
Voting ends on Thursday June 11, at 7 pm Pacific
time.
