J French (born June 18, 1988), is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Oklahoma. He released his first single, “I Feel Like I’m On Dope”, in September 2014. He is best known for his album JAGG (Just Another Gift From God) released in 2020.
J French was born in Oklahoma City. He released his first album “Jaguar Jesus” in 2016. That same year he released singles “Medicine Ball” and “Dallas”. In June 2018, J French received national attention for his single “God Given”. “God Given” was also on J French’s 2nd studio album “OGB” released earlier that year. In November 2018, J French gained local attention for his 3rd studio album “OGB 1.5”. In 2019 gained local attention for the release of the short film ONE POINT 5IVE. Later in 2019, J French released the single “Cut You Off” featuring notable Dallas rap artist Yella Beezy. J French’s latest album “JAGG (Just Another Gift From God)” was released in August 2020.

The Hollywood Times, recently got an exclusive interview with J French and I have to say that I was enlightened and it was a breath of fresh air. Mr. French’s candid attitude gave me inspiration that being authentic and not being the norm is the only way to develop as an artist and even a human being.
I congratulated J for his album “I Don’t believe in Bad DAYS” for coming up this year for a possible Grammy nomination. J told me if it happens great, and if not, he is still just as happy. J also told me that he does not believe in competition with others. You are in competition with yourself and that’s the only way to compete. That’s when you see a REAL improvement in your personal and professional Life. I thought about that statement, and I completely agree. I follow the same thought process, especially in the Entertainment industry where authenticity creates superstars that have had careers in many decades.
J also does not believe in Race issues post slavery. Mr. French believes that society uses Race as an excuse for failures in life and that “Racism” only divides humans and pushes folks back even further. He also said Racism does not exist. I told Mr. French that I try to stay away from these controversial topics, but he said that he likes to discuss his truth. I told him as a Caucasian reporter I will do my best but hopefully I won’t get canceled. I am already on thin ice from my time on “The Dr. Phil Show” talking about Jewish men and their interfaith marriages.
J French has an amazing clothing line that was inspired by his love for tennis. “UMBRELLA BY J FRENCH”. It is very chic! I asked J what “UMBRELLA” symbolizes and said (Preparation, Resilience & Solidarity)
Mr. French is sending me some samples, and I am so excited to wear his Brand especially for what “UMBRELLA” stands for.
I am “Only Josie Knows” and I see big things coming for Mr. J French, and “The Hollywood Times” wishes him the best of luck to get nominated for the Grammy, and to win it!
