ALIEN FEATURE UNEXPECTED TREASURES ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL RELEASE ON STREAMING PLATFORMS
Campy, Fun, Aliens-Amongst-Us Lands on Amazon Prime and Apple TV+ – Friday, September 19, 2025
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Following its successful global debut at San Diego Comic-Con, UNEXPECTED TREASURES is set to bring its unique, campy twist on the classic “aliens-among-us” story to audiences across the US. The film will premiere and be available for purchase or rental on Amazon Prime and Apple TV+ on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Set against the mystical backdrop of the Mojave Desert, UNEXPECTED TREASURES follows Hartley (Olivia Blue, Animal Kingdom), a down-on-her-luck desert dweller who stumbles upon Sam (two-time Emmy Award winner Mike Manning, Beyond the Gates, This is Us), a charming alien fugitive. Together, they race to outrun an alien bounty hunter, unlock ancient prophecies, and discover that true connection often comes from the most unexpected places.
The Hollywood Times reporter Jesus “Solly” Olivares had the opportunity to speak with actor Mike Manning. Here is their conversation:
Rounding out the cast are Michael Dunn (Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2) as Frank, a fervent believer in UFO theory and alien existence; Anna Maria Demara (War of the Worlds: Extinction) as June, a resilient mom making up for lost time; and Jay Whitaker (The Orville, Let’s Go To Prison) as The Bad Guy, the film’s menacing antagonist.
Unexpected Treasures was directed by John Paul Ungaretti and co-written by Christina Heller and Ungaretti. The film was produced by Christina Heller and Aline Andrade, with executive producers Joanna Popper, Virginia Galloway, Michael Masakuwa and Marcie Jastrow, alongside lead actors Mike Manning and Olivia Blue.
Blending humor, adventure, and heart, UNEXPECTED TREASURES is a genre-defying, feel-good film inspired by the legendary stories surrounding the mystical Joshua Tree area.

Ahead of its streaming release, the film hosted a special hometown screening at the Paradigm Cinemas in Yucca Valley this past Thursday, September 4, a celebration of the community where the movie was filmed and a thank-you to the locals who supported the production.
With a run time of 95 minutes, UNEXPECTED TREASURES will be available on-demand starting September 19 via Amazon Prime and Apple TV+.
