Palm Springs, CA (The Hollywood Times) 2/12/26Intersect Palm Springs 2026 officially opened today with an energetic and culturally rich kickoff, welcoming VIP guests at 4 p.m. for an exclusive first look at this year’s dynamic roster of galleries and special exhibitions. Guests enjoyed wine and light bites while connecting with artists and exhibitors before the fair opened to the public from 6–8 p.m.

The evening began with a moving ceremonial song by members of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, grounding the contemporary art celebration in the deep cultural roots of the region.

Art traveled far and wide, from Buenos Aires to Santa Monica, showcasing an impressive international reach while maintaining strong ties to Southern California’s vibrant creative scene. And in true Palm Springs fashion, the style quotient was nearly as captivating as the artwork itself, with bold prints, sculptural silhouettes, and art-inspired ensembles adding to the visual feast.

Award presentations highlighted the evening:

  • The Artist Award was presented to Vasa Velizar Mihich.

  • The Stewardship of the Arts Award honored Steven Biller.

  • The Arts Advocacy Award recognized Susan and Rod Lubeznik.

Opening night set a vibrant tone for the days ahead, a seamless blend of culture, community, creativity, and unmistakable Palm Springs flair.
