Radio listening can be confusing today. It used to be we had AM and FM. Now there is HD radio, streaming services like Pandora and apps like IHeartRadio that carry local radio stations clear across the world.
So it’s no wonder people were confused when I was trying to explain the brand new expansion of KGAY 106.5 to the east and central valley.
Today, we launch on a new channel, 92.1, in addition to 106.5.
The programming is the same, and in fact some automobile radios will automatically switch to the strongest signal when you drive from area to another. We’re still streamed at KGAYPalmSprings.com and soon we’ll be broadcasting in HD.
I took a page from my friends at the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, who led the way with an east valley location a few years ago. Members of our community – and our allies – can be found from the Salton Sea to the Cabazon Dinosaurs. Now, our two signals cover the entire Coachella Valley – and beyond. And it’s a boost for our partners as well.
Radio is in my blood, and we have a deep commitment to serving up great music, a great morning show, and great information in the form of advertising and event information. Thanks for supporting us!
