We Met in December is a Hallmark Christmas movie starring Autumn Reeser and Niall Matter. It is about two strangers, Annie and Dave, who meet and fall in love during a layover but miss each other the next morning and must embark on a quest to find one another in Chicago.
The movie will premiere on Hallmark Channel on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 27, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. It is also available on Hallmark Plus the next day.
On an unexpected layover in mid-December, Annie Lane and Dave Weeks meet as strangers in a beautiful hotel all decorated for the holidays. It’s love at first sight, and they end up having a magical night of sharing hopes, dreams…and a perfect kiss. But when they fail to exchange numbers and miss each other the next morning, Annie and Dave fly back to Chicago with no easy way to track the other one down. The only clues they have are those shared about plans for the upcoming holiday season, and the two embark on separate quests to find one another. Along the way, insightful wisdom shared during their time together leads Annie and Dave to make important changes in their lives, leading them both to find ways of making this Christmas special for themselves, their families, and their loved ones.

Just when you think you have seen the best Christmas movie for 2025, here comes We Met in December with two of my favorite actors, Niall Matter and Autumn Reeser. The story is uplifting, with lessons on love, family, the lost of a family member, the spirit of connection, hope, second chances, to never give up on our dreams and most importantly, OURSEVELES! This inspirational movie will definitely have you second guessing if you ever walked away from what really makes you happy in life. The two characters had a chance meeting up as their plane was cancelled and ended up at the same hotel and that spark was set off as they spent time together talking about their families and what the holidays meant to them. It is so wonderful to meet someone that inspires you to be you. The cast did a wonderful job bringing this holiday movie all the makings of a memorable holiday film. Just beautiful scenery, Christmas tree farm, Christmas decorations, street fares and of course Santa in there as well. Hallmark is your place for holiday movies and We Met in December is another great Countdown to Christmas 2025 Movie.
I’m 65 years old and still trying to find what makes me happy. I love to doddle and write in Calligraphy and Old English and truly after watching this move today, I want to try my hand in doing it once again in my retirement. I want to work for myself and create home decor and gifts that mean something special to someone. When I worked at Disneyland I used to decorate ornaments with names on them, pixie dust and a few other designs. This is something I will pick up again.
