Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 3/27/25 – GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis will be leading the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, with the ceremony being hosted by Michael Urie. The event will honor standout changemakers, allies, and LGBTQ media representations from the past year, including trailblazing individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to LGBTQ visibility and inclusion.
Among those being honored at this prestigious event are Cynthia Erivo, along with an impressive lineup of allies and luminaries, including Abe Sylvia (Palm Royale), Alex Bach (Fantasmas), Alexandra Grey (Actress), Alexis Sampietro (Jury Duty), Alix Traeger (Author/Creator), and many more. This year’s ceremony will also recognize influential media figures such as Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us), Bruce Vilanch (Writer), Cameron Butler Castillo (Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur), Deondray Gossfield (The Chi), and David Archuleta (Recording Artist), to name a few.
Other special honorees include activists, entertainers, and creators from across the media spectrum, from TV and film stars like B.J. Britt (The Groomsmen: Second Changes) and Brian Michael Smith (9-1-1: Lone Star) to digital creators like Ashley Leechin, Brett Neustrom, and Chaz May. Additionally, GLAAD’s board members will play a vital role in supporting this year’s event, helping push forward the organization’s mission of increasing LGBTQ representation in media.
The event will also shine a light on the outstanding work published, released, or broadcast in 2024, recognizing fair and inclusive portrayals of LGBTQ people and issues. With Hyundai, Hornitos Tequila, Gilead Sciences, and Delta Air Lines as sponsors, the GLAAD Media Awards continue to send powerful messages of acceptance and celebrate positive change in media.
The 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the iconic Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, with the evening kicking off at 3:15 PM with media check-in and the red-carpet arrivals beginning at 4:15 PM.
