Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 06/18/2026 – Dual is a psychological thriller that intricately weaves themes such as doppelgangers, skinwalkers, multiple dimensions, multiverses, and time loops. Directed and written by Nitasha Bhambree and Declan Mulvey, the film explores complex narratives that invite viewers to ponder profound questions.
The story centers on Kiera O’Connor as Kiera and Robbie Dema as Sam, a couple navigating their lives, possibly in the woods. The film opens with them driving into town when they encounter a truck blocking their path. Following gunshots, they retreat to a cabin to sleep. When Kiera wakes up, she discovers Sam is missing and that she is apparently pregnant. In a tense moment, Sam returns with a rifle, but soon they face the unexpected arrival of another version of Sam. With the dynamics of trust and reality challenged, Kiera must discern who the real Sam is when yet another version of herself enters, armed and unpredictable.

As the plot unfolds, the narrative raises questions about the nature of reality and identity as the characters deal with doppelgangers and the confounding circumstances of their situation. After confronting the intruders and escaping the cabin, the characters find themselves in a perplexing scenario, leading to a sense of unease as they realize they’re caught in a loop, ultimately returning to the cabin.
The film adeptly incorporates elements of urban legends, folklore, and potential spiritual themes, giving it a multi-dimensional depth. The choice of using different actors as doppelgangers adds an authenticity to the experience, enhancing the intrigue. Viewers may find themselves curious to revisit earlier scenes, particularly concerning the truck that initially obstructed their path, as it could hold significant implications for the story. “Dual” is a thrilling cinematic experience filled with unexpected twists and layers that provoke thoughtful reflection.
Dual Will Screen at The 29th Annual Dances With Films Film Festival in Los Angeles on June 26th at 11:45 PM, for tickets and more information, please visit: https://danceswithfilms.com/2026-dual/
