Country music legend Dolly Parton has died at age 80, her family announced Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The beloved singer, songwriter, actress and philanthropist leaves behind an extraordinary legacy spanning more than six decades. Parton gave the world classics including “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” “Coat of Many Colors” and “I Will Always Love You,” while also becoming known for Dollywood and her Imagination Library literacy program.

A cause of death has not yet been publicly announced.
