Napa Valley, CA (The Hollywood Times) 5/23/26 – BottleRock Napa Valley 2026 kicked off Friday with the perfect blend of nostalgia, powerhouse vocals, culinary experiences, and unforgettable festival energy across the Napa Valley Expo grounds. From iconic legends to today’s chart-topping artists, Day One delivered a little something for everyone, all surrounded by world-class food, wine, and lifestyle activations that continue to make BottleRock one of the most unique festivals in the country.

My Friday began at 2:15 PM at the T-Mobile Stage with Natasha Bedingfield, whose upbeat energy immediately set the tone for the day. Fans packed the area singing along to hits like “Pocketful of Sunshine” and the ever-anthemic “Unwritten,” which turned into one giant crowd singalong. Bedingfield’s performance felt joyful, positive, and exactly like the kind of communal music moment festivals are made for.

Without leaving the T-Mobile Stage area, the vibe shifted beautifully as Tash Sultana took over next. The Australian multi-instrumentalist captivated the audience with looping guitars, layered vocals, and genre-bending soundscapes that blended rock, reggae, soul, and psychedelic influences into a hypnotic live experience. Watching Sultana build songs live in real time was one of the most musically impressive sets of the afternoon.
I then attempted to catch BØRNS at the VIP Village Stage, but with only a media wristband and not VIP access, I wasn’t able to enter that area. Thankfully, I later caught BØRNS performing again on the HelloFresh Stage, where the dreamy indie-pop sound and stylish stage presence drew an enthusiastic crowd. The HelloFresh area added another fun element to the experience by offering food samples to festivalgoers during the set, another reminder that BottleRock uniquely blends music and culinary culture together.

The energy shifted into full legendary mode over at the Prudential Stage where Chaka Khan reminded everyone why she remains one of music’s greatest voices. Performing hit after hit with incredible power and charisma, Khan had fans dancing throughout her entire set. Her timeless catalog connected generations of music lovers across the festival grounds.
Staying at the Prudential Stage afterward proved to be a smart move because Teddy Swims delivered one of the strongest vocal performances of the day. Blending soul, country, rock, and pop influences, Swims brought enormous emotion and vocal range to every song. His connection with the audience felt genuine and heartfelt, further cementing his reputation as one of today’s breakout live performers.

The highlight of my entire Friday, however, belonged to Lorde back at the Prudential Stage. Her early evening set was emotional, intimate, and visually stunning. The New Zealand superstar had the audience completely locked in from start to finish, but the biggest moment came when she performed “Royals,” the song that launched her career and still resonates deeply with fans more than a decade later. Thousands sang every word together beneath the Napa night sky, creating one of those rare festival moments that truly feels unforgettable.

Closing out the night was Men at Work on the HelloFresh Stage. Led by Colin Hay, the legendary Australian band brought pure nostalgia and fun to the final set of the evening. Songs like “Down Under” and “Who Can It Be Now?” had the crowd dancing, laughing, and ending Day One on a high note.

Beyond the music, BottleRock continued to excel with immersive sponsor activations and food experiences throughout the grounds. One particularly popular stop was the High West cocktail activation, where guests could receive personalized flasks alongside whiskey cocktails, making it one of the most talked-about experiences of the day.
Day One of BottleRock Napa Valley 2026 showcased exactly why the festival continues to thrive: incredible artists, cross-generational lineups, gourmet food, lifestyle experiences, and a relaxed Napa Valley atmosphere that feels both upscale and welcoming at the same time. If Friday was any indication, the rest of the weekend promises even more memorable moments.
