Palm Springs, CA (The Hollywood Times) 11/7/25 – Jason Stuart opened the evening with his signature wit and effortless charm. He had the audience roaring as he teased about lesbians being far handier than he’ll ever be and shared delightfully absurd stories about his mother, who, as he reminded us, lives right next door. By the end of his set, the room was fully warmed up and laughing, and Jason made sure to slide in one last note: he’s single… and taking referrals.

Amythyst Kiah followed, and what a powerhouse she is. Hailing from Tennessee, she commands the stage with raw honesty and bold, gutsy lyrics that trace the challenges of her upbringing. Her acoustic numbers were standouts, intimate, emotional, and beautifully delivered. With “Black Myself,” she had the entire audience singing with her in a moving, collective swell of solidarity and joy. It was a moment that lingered.
After intermission, Ann Hampton Callaway graced the stage, a true jazz great whose mastery is undeniable. Her scatting was extraordinary, and her rendition of “At Last” was nothing short of breathtaking. She spoke warmly about her deep connection to Palm Springs, weaving that affection into her performance. With her sultry, expressive voice and stories of how her parents shaped her musicality, Ann delivered a set that was both elegant and deeply heartfelt.
