Comic artist Jimmy Craig is hoping to bring cat-people and dog-people together once and for all.

Introducing Are You Gonna Eat That?: The Essential Collection of They Can Talk Comics [ISBN: 9781646044511; $16.95; Ulysses Press; March 14, 2023], a comprehensive book offering more than 100 hilarious animal comics imagining what it would be like if we had VIP access to the lives of our animal friends.

The truth comes out in this fully updated collection of comics from the viral hit and popular webcomic series, They Can Talk, where humor writer and artist Jimmy Craig reveals what your dog, cat, and neighborhood squirrels are saying behind your back. “Cat-people AND dog-people will love it because it’s clever,” Craig said. “It can be surprisingly deep and insightful, and it’s funny.”

These colorful illustrated comics include the inner thoughts of creatures from across the animal kingdom—from misunderstood sharks and trouble-making bears to the often complicated relationship between you and your pet cat. Get dating advice from raccoons, some life perspective from dogs, and learn why cats are always knocking things off of shelves.

Updated to include brand new comics, fan favorites, redrawn classics, Are You Gonna Eat That? is the perfect quirky gift for any lover of animals, or for anyone who just loves to laugh.

Craig, who grew up reading Calvin and Hobbes, The Far Side,
and the funny pages in the newspaper, has been surrounded by
comic strips his entire life. “I have rows of comic collections on
my shelves,” he said. “And now I get to contribute to a community and readership that I’ve always felt a part of.”

Started in 2015, “They Can Talk” has since grown to have over
one million followers and a new comic is posted every week online. “Since I started the comic, the response from readers has
been amazing,” Craig said. “The comments, emails, and letters I
receive are overwhelmingly positive. Sometimes I’ll write comics
for my own amusement and I’m actually surprised when they
get a great response. It really makes the world feel a little bit
smaller, in the best way.”
