At the Honda Center in Anaheim on January 22, 2022, the President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship offers two amazing championship fights, starting the new year with a bang.

Anaheim, CA (The Hollywood Times) 12/04/2021 – As the President of the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization in the world, Dana White has spent decades dealing with a bevy of poppycock and hogwash. At one time or another, everyone seems to have a small-minded complaint against this man and what he manages to accomplish. However, during this same period, he has taken a marginalized sport into the glory of the mainstream, making MMA one of the most popular pay-per-view (PPV) and televised offerings worldwide. Indeed, Dana White is nothing less than a sports maestro, and his success is unprecedented in the 21st Century. Such success clearly is going to continue in 2022 as he starts off the new year with a bang.
Indeed, UFC 270 is the most anticipated PPV event of the new year. Taking place at the Honda Center in Anaheim on January 22, 2022, the stacked card is now on sale, with VIP experiences still available. Fans are utterly excited to experience a powerful night of battles, including the UFC Heavyweight Championship and the UFC Flyweight Championship. It is the first card in Southern California since Daniel Cormier lost his heavyweight championship belt to Stipe Miocic in a stirring rematch on August 17, 2019. Having also taken place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, it shows that when Dana White does bring the UFC to Southern California, he comes with his heaviest hitters in tow.
At UFC 270, the event headliner is a UFC Heavyweight Championship title unification bout between current champion Francis Ngannou and interim champion Ciryl Gane. A Cameroonian mixed martial artist, Ngannou (35) is known for being the hardest recorded puncher in the world. Nicknamed “The Predator,” no fighter has recovered from a clean punch landed by the African destroyer. Indeed, he is a force to be reckoned with in the Octagon.
However, Ngannou will have his hands full when he faces interim Champion Ciryl Gane. A former training partner of Ngannou’s under coach Fernand Lopez, Gane is an undefeated French mixed martial artist. Gane’s fighting style is elusive and intelligent, making the talented fighter hard to hit and even harder to hurt. Thus, the bout between these two pound-for-pound greats is a toss-up with the MMA community divided. Although Ngannou has seemed like an unbeatable force of nature in recent bouts, many believe that Gane is the ideal opponent, capable of avoiding the powerful blows and undermining the Champion’s confidence.
What’s incredible is that the main event is just one of many great bouts on the night’s card. The co-headliner is the UFC Flyweight Championship trilogy bout between current champion Brandon Moreno and former champion Deiveson Figueredo. After fighting to a spirited draw in their first encounter, Moreno dominated the powerful Champion in the second fight, winning by third-round submission. Indeed, Moreno’s victory was imposing since Figueredo appeared at the time to be an almost unbeatable champion.
With twelve more fights on both the undercard and the main card, UFC 270 at the Honda Center in Anaheim is bound to be a great night of action and entertainment. There is no doubt that Dana White will be proud to be sitting Octagon-side, watching his most outstanding achievement play out again before an adoring Southern California crown. If the crowd could request anything from the President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, surely it would be a return on a more consistent basis to the Honda Center and beyond. Indeed, every city in Southern California, from Los Angeles to San Diego, longs for UFC live events to fill their stadiums and arenas.
