Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 10/25/24 – The West Coast Liberty Awards, held last night, was a resounding success, bringing together supporters to honor Lambda Legal’s vital work on the West Coast and across the nation. Attendees enjoyed an evening filled with celebration, recognizing the contributions of two remarkable honorees: George Takei and Dylan Mulvaney. Their dedication to activism and the fight for equality was a highlight of the event.
The evening was expertly hosted by Dana Goldberg, whose engaging presence set a positive tone for the festivities. Special recognition is due to award presenters, former LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and Lambda Legal Board Member Robert Garcia, for their contributions to the program.
A standout performance by David Archuleta captivated the audience, showcasing his incredible talent and adding an extra layer of excitement to the night.
Lambda Legal also expressed gratitude to National Leadership Council Member Gary Knapp, who issued a $50,000 matching gift challenge. This initiative allowed the organization to match every dollar raised during the event, significantly bolstering their efforts.
The support from the community is crucial for Lambda Legal as it continues its mission to advocate for fully lived civil rights for all LGBTQ+ individuals and those living with HIV. The organization emphasized that the work it does would not be possible without the generous contributions of its supporters.
For those who were unable to donate at the event or wish to contribute further, opportunities to support Lambda Legal’s mission remain available.
Looking ahead, Lambda Legal encourages everyone to participate in upcoming events, including the Palm Springs Pride parade on Sunday, November 3rd. The continued involvement and support of the community play an essential role in the ongoing fight for equality and justice.
