There is an actress and model on my Facebook page that I always see is working in the entertainment industry. She literally works 24/7. I always see her updates, and she is always on some top rated tv show/ movie or doing some glamorous photoshoot. Her name is Rachel Ashley Johnson. She is very beautiful, friendly and professional. I had the pleasure of interviewing her for an exclusive for The Hollywood Times and wanted to see if she would share some of her secrets to success.
Ashely and I met at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel on a Wednesday afternoon for a high tea. I was quite surprised as she is even more beautiful in person than her amazing modeling portfolio. We sat down and immediately looked around to see who was there. The Polo lounge is the top spot of Hollywood A-listers and high profiled executives. We were in luck as behind our table sat Kelsey Grammer, who is an accomplished American Actor with six Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes, a Screen Actors Guilds Award and a Tony Award. He is known for being an actor on Cheers and had his own spinoff show Frazier. Then to the side of us sat Sharon Stone, who also is an established well-known actress worldwide. Ms. Stone is known for her role in the movie Casino which earned her a Golden Globe Award. Both Ashley and I were star truck. I looked at Ashley with her porcelain skin and beautiful long blonde hair and thought in the back of my mind what I was doing and thinking, when I was her age. I am a decade older, and age is not just a number like some say. Lifestyles, mentalities, careers, change from decade to decade at least for me.
Ashley was very serious and extremely professional. She told me she is an introvert and is thankful that I’m not too assertive and aggressive with my interview. I told her I want her to be comfortable and tell me only what she feels comfortable sharing with the audience. I told her that I have a very glamorous, sexy way of giving the audience the new and happening events that are happening in the Hollywood. I told her that when I was coming up in the game, I was always looking for people who are already established, and in the inside to share with me how to move on up. Not only did many not help but it would sometimes alienate people and I would end up making enemies. So, my column “Only Josie Knows” is about giving informative information to the people in the industry to help move one up.
She told me that she is a self-made woman. She has no nepotism, or big connections. Her key to working all the time is self-submission. She left home at 18 and never went back to being taken care of by her parents or any man. She told me she takes pride in being an independent self-sufficient woman. I asked her if she has or wants a sugar daddy or benefactor as many young starlets need until they make it big. She said quite the opposite, Ashely works many jobs to pay her bills. She also is a real estate agent for Rodeo Realty in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. I asked her if she has a boyfriend or is in search of one. She told me her focus is her career, however if true love was to find her, she would not pass it by.

Rachel Ashley Johnson: I self-submit, and I don’t have an agent doing it for me. You can do it! Submit submit, submit
It was so refreshing to interview Rachel. She really is a great competitor. She knows how to keep her eye on the prize with a very sweet charm. She is confident in that she is not competing with other females. She knows who she is and wishes others well. She even gave me some casting directors information that she has worked for and said “Self Submit Josie” you can do it. I did go over and introduce myself to Kelsey Grammer and asked him for an interview on how to find more scripted work. Stay tuned…. I am “Only Josie Knows” and I am trying hard to get entertainers to move forward. I feel as though as talent we can all share our information, and we can all make it to the top!
