You’ll Love to Love the New Donna Summer Documentary

By: T. Felder

Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 6/12/23 – I couldn’t help but feel excited to watch the new documentary “Love to Love You, Donna Summer” on HBO Max. I had always been a huge fan of the disco legend and couldn’t wait to learn more about her life and career.

Directed by Roger Ross Williams and Donna’s daughter, Brooklyn Sudano, the film was a beautiful tribute to the singer’s legacy. Through interviews with family, friends, and colleagues, we got an intimate look into Donna’s journey from a church choir singer to a global superstar.

Donna had overcome so many obstacles in her life, from racism to sexism, and yet she always remained true to herself and her music. The film also delved into Donna’s personal life, including her relationships and struggles with addiction. It was a reminder that even the most successful and talented people are still human and face their own challenges.

But what stood out to me the most was the love and admiration that everyone had for Donna. Her music has brought joy and happiness to so many people, and her kind and generous spirit has touched the lives of those around her.

By the end of the documentary, I felt like I had gotten to know Donna on a deeper level. Her music had always been a source of inspiration and joy for me, but now I had a newfound respect and appreciation for the woman behind the music.

“Love to Love You, Donna Summer” was a beautiful tribute to a true icon, and I felt grateful to have been able to experience it.
