Warner Bros. TV Group Receives 41 Emmy® Nominations

2023 EMMY® AWARDS, INCLUDING REPEAT OUTSTANDING COMEDY

SERIES NODS FOR TED LASSO AND ABBOTT ELEMENTARY

DOLLY PARTON’S MOUNTAIN MAGIC CHRISTMAS FOR TELEVISION MOVIE

BURBANK, Calif. (July 12, 2023) — Programs produced by divisions of the Warner Bros. Television Group received 41 nominations for the 75th Primetime Emmy® Awards today. This includes back-to-back Outstanding Comedy Series nominations for Warner Bros. Television’s Abbott Elementary and marks the third consecutive nomination for two-time winner Ted LassoTed Lasso led all comedy series once again with 21 nominations for its third season. For the second year in a row, Abbott Elementary topped all broadcast network comedy series with eight nominations for its second season. Warner Bros. Unscripted Television’s The Voice was again nominated for Outstanding Competition Program. Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal was nominated for Outstanding Animated Program, and Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas was nominated for Outstanding Television Movie.

Select highlights of WBTVG’s nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards include:

  • Ted Lasso (Warner Bros. Television for Apple TV+) scored 21 nominations, topping all comedy series for the year. Nominations include Outstanding Comedy Series for the third straight year after winning in its first two seasons, acting nominations for Jason Sudeikis, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Hannah Waddingham, Sam Richardson, Becky Ann Baker, Sarah Niles, and Harriet Walter, one for writing, and more.
  • Abbott Elementary (WBTV and 20th Television for ABC) received eight nominations, the most for any network comedy series. Nominations include Outstanding Comedy Series for the second year in a row, acting nods for Quinta Brunson, Janelle James, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Tyler James Williams, and Taraji P. Henson, and more.
  • The Voice (Warner Bros. Unscripted Television for NBC) belted four nominations, including Outstanding Reality Competition Program. It has now been nominated for 78 Emmys, the most in history for a musical competition show.
  • Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal (Cartoon Network Studios for Adult Swim) was nominated for Outstanding Animated Program.
  • Shrinking (WBTV for Apple TV+) received acting nominations for Jason Segel and Jessica Williams.
  • Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas (WBTV for NBC) celebrates two nominations, including Outstanding Television Movie.
