Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 5/20/25 – Tiziana Rocca officially unveiled the 8th edition of the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Scheduled for June 19–22 at Forte Village in Cagliari, the festival continues to blend cinema, education, and international collaboration with a strong focus on supporting emerging talent.
“This year marks a significant moment for us,” said Rocca during the presentation. “We remain dedicated to strengthening the connection between culture, the film industry, and future generations of filmmakers.”
The lineup includes acclaimed actors such as Alec Baldwin, Heather Graham, Simon Baker, Rocío Muñoz Morales, and Riccardo Milani. Baker will be honored with the Filming Italy Excellence Award, while Anouchka Delon will receive a tribute in memory of her father, French icon Alain Delon. Actress Micaela Ramazzotti will lead the short film jury, and Martina Stella will serve as this year’s festival ambassador.
Rocca, one of the few women directing major film festivals globally, also leads Filming Italy Los Angeles, Filming Italy Special Venice, and is the new director of the Taormina Film Festival. She continues to advocate for women in cinema, reaffirming her support through renewed partnerships with Women in Film, Television & Media Italia. This year’s festival will spotlight debut films from emerging female directors.
Over 50 screenings are planned, including feature films, documentaries, and series from Italy and abroad, many of them world premieres. Students from cinema academies will also participate in masterclasses led by the festival’s guests, an effort Rocca sees as vital to keeping the future of cinema alive.
“Theaters are still crucial cultural spaces,” Rocca emphasized. “They bring people together—especially young people—and we must ensure they endure.”
