The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), presented by Rogers, announced three world premieres for Fall 2026 its 51st year edition, Gala lineup, including Susanna White’s Prima Facie, Hur Jin-ho’s The Assassin(s), Apple’s Being Heumann, directed by Siân Heder. Being Heumann will open the festival on September 10 at Roy Thomson Hall.
Building on last year’s record-breaking 50th anniversary with around 700,000 attendees, TIFF 2026 runs September 10–20, featuring star-studded premieres, new industry initiatives like TIFF: The Market, and engaging audience events across 11 days.
Cameron Bailey, TIFF CEO, expressed excitement about opening with Heder’s inspiring film about disability advocate Judy Heumann, and revealed Toronto will see Cynthia Erivo in Prima Facie and the South Korean thriller The Assassin(s) debut at the festival. Film Highlights:

The festival will also host Q&As, the “In Conversation With…” series, and the return of Festival Street along King Street West with food trucks and entertainment.
Awards will be announced on closing day, including the People’s Choice Award, which last year went to Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet. A new accolade allows the non-English Platform Award winner to qualify directly for the Best International Feature Oscar. Other awards include Jury Prizes and honors from FIPRESCI and NETPAC.

Screenings will be at TIFF Lightbox, Roy Thomson Hall, Princess of Wales Theatre, Scotiabank Theatre, and other venues.
The TIFF Tribute Awards Gala is scheduled for September 13 at the Fairmont Royal York, and TIFF: The Market runs September 10–16.
Programming updates will be announced in July and August, with the full schedule launching August 11. Ticket sales begin August 21 for TIFF Members and August 31 for the general public.
