In the vibrant, progressive city of Superior, Colorado, resides this remarkable individual—an inspired mystic wearing a stylish bowler hat. With a beaming smile and soulful laugh, this man radiates a warmth that draws people in. A spiritual coach, Ashley (“Ash”) Ruiz, guides countless individuals toward enlightenment, earning him the status of an American Zen Master. He refers to his listeners as “Beloveds,” a heartfelt reminder that each of us is infinitely valuable and deeply loved.
Ruiz happens to posses a lineage enriched with over 900 years of spiritual guidance. Among his esteemed ancestors was the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Ash has embraced the tranquility of Superior, a small town nestled in the breathtaking landscape of Boulder County, where his transformative presence flourish.
Though just born in the mid-seventies, he possesses an uncanny depth of understanding that resonates with individuals of all ages. As an empath, he has the ability to make people feel valued and cherished. His entire family seems to embody talent and authenticity. His ability to touch hearts and inspire minds comes not only from his knowledge but from his unique gift of connecting through song, story, and conversation. In the 1980s, Ruiz rose to stardom as a member of the internationally revered Puerto Rican boy band named Menudo, a group widely regarded as the most iconic Latino pop band of all time.
During his time touring with Menudo, Ruiz became bilingual and an advanced multi-instrumentalist, gaining experience in the spotlight. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and more recently Portuguese has been added to his linguistic repertoire from his sabbatical in Brazil.

Hollywood Times journalist Amy Diana Ramirez was granted an interview with Ruiz at his residence in Superior. Upon her arrival, Ramirez promptly noticed a pleasant fragrance emanating from the place and noted how each aspect of the home’s decor appeared to be meticulously curated with care.
Now, Ruiz and Ramirez have known each other since 2001. In 2003, Ramirez attended a spiritual musical performance at a planetarium in Miami, Florida (which has since been demolished) to see Ruiz’s contemporary band perform, Here II Here (formerly known as Inner Voice). This band features Ash as its charismatic frontman, and he is responsible for most of the song lyrics. The experience created by the spiritual band was so moving – so profound that this author’s cheeks were wet with tears throughout the concert. One of Ruiz’s most colorful videos is a clever ode to the Burning Man festival. The song and video are collaborative efforts with the Black rap artist Free Will. Ruiz refers to his spiritual mentors as “Divas of Clarity,” including the best-selling author and spiritual guru Byron Katie. [Ruiz, 8/6/25.]
As a vocalist, Ruiz identifies Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion as his “Divas of Song,” collectively referred to as “the Vocal Trinity.” [Ruiz, 8/6/25.] Although Katie has had a profound influence on Ruiz, the mentor who has exerted the most enduring impact on his perspective is his spiritual guru Gangaji. Ruiz is a dedicated satsang facilitator and has expertise in guiding Ayahuasca journeys. This transformative process involves supporting individuals in the consumption of a plant-based psychedelic brew made from DMT (Dimethyltryptamine), known as “the Spirit Molecule.” Through these journeys, he has enabled participants to achieve significant psychological breakthroughs, elevate their spiritual awareness, recover mental health, and reignite their creativity.
