I always knew that I wanted to be a mom and get married someday. However, in my collegiate days I wanted it more than ever because I felt this emptiness and sadness that was always lingering after the two-week mark of any relationship I entered. I had some really nice handsome educated Jewish men that had potential but at the current time they were just only starting their life, and they really had nothing to offer except a 50/50 partnership. I could not be a 50/50 partner to any man because when I was 24 years old, I had the chance to be an Entertainer and Playboy Model and build my career and do what most dream of. This was not excepted by my Jewish young professional men & their families, and many said they will only be with me if I am a professional in a stable profession. It was the easiest decision I ever made, and I walked away and never looked back. I chose me at 24 because I only found happiness when I set my life goals first and still do. When people ask me why I don’t sacrifice my life so that I can have a great husband & family I would say that you cannot fit a square in a circle. As my career evolved, I really enjoyed various passages of my blessed life. I had many wonderful romances that really helped me figure out what I really want and what I don’t want. It was not until I hit 40 that I really felt I wanted to be a mom, where I felt that I was ready to sacrifice my wants and needs to create and family. I felt I had laid my foundations and accomplished many of my goals and I was able to finally see how a square can fit into a circle, or so I thought…..
Being in the Thoroughbred Racing Industry for 13 years I met many accomplished horse- men. There was a prominent trainer that recently retired, Eric Kruljac who won 1,252 races from 7,656 starters in a career that began in 1986. He once overheard me talking about how I am afraid that I am aging out and won’t be able to have children back in 2014 at 31 years old. I just started to really win with my horses, and I was listening to so called friends, family and the peanut gallery. Eric said Josie, you will not have problems with fertility till 50! I asked, “how do you know? He said I know Thoroughbreds as I have had success, and you are built like one. You have many more years of racing ahead of you before you go into pasture and become a broodmare. Was horseman Eric Kruljac right?????
As I hit 40 I started to see how that square can fit in that circle, so I thought. I had many romances with men that I knew were not for me but were so EXCITING. But at the end of the day, I am a business woman first and did not want to go in the wrong direction which at the end of the day was how I felt about all of them. When I had my blood drawn at 41, I saw that my (AMH) Ani- Mullerin Hormone: levels are a measure of a woman’s ovarian reserve went from above average to average. I started to age, and it was time to Freeze my Eggs while they were still good. Every female has a different age where the decline starts and if I could give a piece of advice, I would keep an eye out for one levels of AMH! I want to share with you my journey and share with you some information on this amazing process that could help you buy some time so you can keep shopping around for your “MR. WONDERFUL”
I found my brilliant handsome Ashkenazi Dr. Albert Einstein at HRC facility in Newport Beach. No I’m kidding although he looks like Albert Einstein, and is just as brilliant, his name is Dr. Lawrence Werlin MD. Dr Werlin is a nationally noted specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility here in Orange County.
When I first met Dr. Werlin in my consultation meeting, he was very honest with me. He explained my expectations being a 42-year-old female, and how things may or may not turn out. He started explaining the process, and I got nervous and said I don’t want to hear or see what’s really going on with this process. The less I know the better!! I’m superstitious! I said Dr. Grade 1 Winner Thoroughbred Horseman Eric Kruljack told me I will have no problems because he said woman & female (filly) thoroughbred horses share similarities. “(I am a GRADE 1) doctor looked at me and I could see he thought I was koo koo. Dr. Werlin, said let’s just see, and what do you know, my first ultrasound he almost fell over when he saw how many follicles I had. The rest you will have to watch my videos and my process from start to finish and how many eggs Dr. Werlin was able to retrieve.
I did have some help preparing for this journey. I worked with Susan Georgiev who did Crystal Therapy on my mind, body & soul. We also did an Aroma Facial, Aroma body Massage and some meditation to calm me down. I also had my niece, who is extremely special. She is my lucky charm. She was born on 11/11 and she spends the night weekly and loves to rub my tummy and tells me her brothers and her will come out again for me soon. Ever since she was born, she is MY everything. When my brother started having kids 8 years ago, I was a little envious because I felt I was getting left behind. My other friend at the Racetrack the relative of Saddam Hussein “Salah Al Muddaris” another successful horseman and businessman pulled me aside said don’t be sad, my cousin from another mother, your brother’s kids are your kids. Brother and sister is 1 (Muslim & Jewish culture). Salah, was right, my brother’s kids took more of my genetics, and they feel like they are a big part of me. (which my brother is not to thrilled)
I live my life to the best of my ability, and I try to do everything in Good Faith, and I am so thankful that this surgery was a HUGE success. Dr. Werlin was able to retrieve 11 eggs which is very lucky for me as I hit the top 10% of all women worldwide. I understand that one can’t only depend on only “LUCK” , but by motoring ones AMH levels to know when to do “Egg Preservation woman have more time to shop around and pick Mr. Right and not have to suffer and settle to have a family. Sure, I gained some weight and had to give myself some painful injections but that does not compare to the pain & suffering that I endured while trying to fit a square in a circle. While some get sad while on these hormones, I had the GLOW UP as I was able to buy some time, to see if I can fit that square in that circle or find something fabulous. After this procedure I found that I am so much happier and don’t get involved with men just to see if I can make it work. It is also interesting that now that I know I have 11 fabulous eggs on reserve I’m not even attracted to any of men from the past that I entertained to have my baby.
