Shutter Speed is a Belgian short drama film directed by Jasper De Maeseneer and co-written by De Maeseneer and Arthur Moelants. The film explores the complex emotions of a fifteen-year-old boy named Cas, portrayed by Lou Goossens, as he develops a pseudo-relationship with Jard, an intern photographer played by Willem Herbots.

The narrative is primarily told from Cas’s perspective, capturing his infatuation and the accompanying themes of teenage angst, vulnerability, and power dynamics. Cas’s fascination with Jard takes on a toxic nature as he tests the boundaries of their relationship, ultimately leading to feelings of jealousy, anger, and sadness. The film effectively highlights the darker aspects of human emotions and the consequences of unfulfilled desires.

In a broader context, “Shutter Speed” delves into themes such as covetousness and resentment, illustrating the animosity that can arise when one does not attain what they yearn for. The film has received recognition and will be screened at this year’s Hollywood Queer Short Film Festival. For tickets and further information, Please visit: https://hqsff.com/
