Music legends tell the stories of their lives through the songs they love, and share their own personal playlists of the artists and bands that inspire them in the new AXS TV series  MIXTAPE.  Doors guitarist Robby Krieger and actor & musician Dennis Quaid are featured in this week’s episode on Thursday, October 17 at 8:30pE/5:30pP.

In this first-look clipKrieger and Quaid discuss the ground-breaking Elvis Presley classic “Don’t Be Cruel,” before breaking into an impromptu acoustic jam that is sure to please The King’s dedicated fanbase.

Quaid, who frequently performs the hit live with his band, Dennis Quaid And The Sharks, notes the song’s enduring status as a true fan-favorite, saying, “It’s the centerpiece of our show… it whips the crowd into a frenzy.” Krieger expresses admiration for “Don’t Be Cruel’s” ability to transcend genre, saying, “[It] was like the first Elvis song that got to me… it was rock n’ roll, but it was nice, too.
