Palm Springs, CA (The Hollywood Times) 8/22/26 — Sometimes five minutes is all it takes to tell you exactly who a character is, what she wants, and what she absolutely will not tolerate.
Jennifer Corday accomplishes just that in Find Another Girl To Fix, her playful, stylish new music video screening at Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ+ Film Festival on Friday, September 18 at 11:45 AM as part of the “Shorts: Pot Pourri” program.
Starring out-and-proud lesbians Jennifer Corday and Cathy DeBuono, the video is a wonderfully campy, mid-century Palm Springs romp built around one very clear message: if you enter a relationship thinking you can remodel the woman you fell for, you had better find somebody else.
And Corday delivers that message with attitude.

Corday has built a career around heartfelt songwriting, powerful vocals and an unmistakable stage presence, and here she takes those strengths and wraps them inside a colorful visual comedy.
The song is essentially a declaration of independence.
Rather than allowing another person to dictate how she should dress, behave or live, Corday lays down the ground rules. Take her as she is or move along.
It’s a familiar relationship argument transformed into a catchy lesbian anthem, and the humor makes the message land without becoming heavy-handed.
A music video like this depends on chemistry, and Corday and DeBuono have it.

DeBuono commits fully to the role of “The Fixer,” while Corday gives her something very entertaining to push against. Their interaction gives the video its comic momentum and transforms what could have simply been a performance video into a miniature story.
The exaggerated relationship dynamic is funny because it is recognizable. Most of us have either known someone who wanted to “fix” a partner or have experienced the uncomfortable realization that somebody we cared about wanted a revised version of us.
Corday’s response is refreshingly uncomplicated: No thanks.
The mid-century Palm Springs setting is more than attractive scenery. It fits the video’s cheeky personality beautifully.
There’s something wonderfully appropriate about pairing vintage-inspired Palm Springs glamour with a thoroughly contemporary lesbian relationship story. The contrast gives the video character and keeps it visually distinct from the countless performance-driven music videos released every year.
Cinematographer Rachael Adair Hastings helps create a polished visual world that embraces the video’s humor without allowing it to look like a joke.
Producer Lissa Forehan and the production team likewise help give the project the feeling of a miniature narrative film rather than simply a promotional vehicle for a song.
And then there is Quinn, the mannequin, who may not have any dialogue but proves that sometimes a supporting performer doesn’t need lines to steal attention.
What I particularly appreciate about Find Another Girl To Fix is that its queerness simply exists.
This isn’t a story in which lesbian characters must explain themselves, come out or suffer because of who they are. Instead, we get something LGBTQ+ audiences deserve more of: queer women being funny, flirtatious, frustrated, confident and completely themselves.
That makes Cinema Diverse a particularly fitting home for the film.
The festival has always been about showcasing the enormous range of LGBTQ+ storytelling, and Corday’s video demonstrates that queer cinema can also be short, sexy, silly and enormously fun.
There is room for serious LGBTQ+ documentaries and dramatic narratives, but there should always be room for joy and camp too.
When Corday originally unveiled Find Another Girl To Fix in June, she celebrated with a packed release event at Marni’s in Seal Beach.
Guests watched the video on multiple large screens before Corday and her band launched into a three-hour concert.
The theme extended throughout the evening. Members of the Corday Crew greeted guests in hard hats and handed out “FIXER” tools featuring mini screwdrivers and measuring tapes, while specialty drinks included the Fixer Elixir, Sledgehammer, Blueprint and Dustpan.
Attendee & Corday’s girlfriend, Lisa Bassi described the premiere enthusiastically:
“It was an epic video release… packed house and very well received,” Bassi said. “The band was awesome. In my humble opinion, it was one of Corday’s best shows. I loved the set list.”
The video has now moved beyond that celebratory launch and onto the festival circuit, where audiences can judge the work on its own terms.
And it holds up.
The Hollywood Times Review
At only five minutes, Find Another Girl To Fix doesn’t overstay its welcome. It establishes its joke, creates its world, lets Corday and DeBuono play, delivers the song’s message and gets out.
That’s part of its charm.
It is colorful without becoming cluttered, sexy without trying too hard, and campy without losing the genuine sentiment behind Corday’s lyrics.
Most importantly, it knows exactly what it is.
Find Another Girl To Fix is a celebration of knowing yourself well enough to recognize when somebody else’s “improvements” aren’t improvements at all.

Sometimes the healthiest relationship advice is also the simplest:
Love me as I am, or find another girl to fix.
For Cinema Diverse audiences, that message arrives wrapped in music, Palm Springs sunshine, lesbian humor and plenty of Corday attitude.
That makes this little five-minute film a very fun addition to this year’s festival.
