Palm Springs, CA-PRISM Theater will officially open the doors of its permanent home at 391 N. Indian Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, CA 92262 on June 12, 2026 with the musical comedy The Book of Merman, launching a summer lineup that also includes Making Porn and the Raw Dog Comedy Festival.

The opening marks PRISM’s second production following the West Coast premiere of Camp Morning Wood, presented in partnership with 4707 Events, and reflects the company’s move from its launch production into a permanent venue in downtown Palm Springs.

“After the overwhelming support we received from the community with Camp Morning Wood, we are thrilled to open the doors to PRISM’s permanent home and continue adding new energy, perspective, and experiences to Palm Springs‘ already vibrant arts scene,” said Ron Phillips, CEO of PRISM Theater. “We are excited to welcome audiences into a space where bold storytelling, laughter, and celebration can thrive”

The Book of Merman

  • Run: June 12, 2026 – July 26, 2026

Schedule: Mostly Thursdays-Sundays

  • Tickets: Reserved seating, $5495

An outrageous musical comedy with a big Broadway wink, The Book of Merman follows two earnest Mormon missionaries who accidentally arrive at the home of legendary diva Ethel Merman instead of knocking on the expected door. What unfolds is a gleeful collision of faith, showbiz, mistaken identity, and larger-than-life personality, wrapped in camp humor and heartfelt theatrical flair.

Packed with musical comedy energy and playful satire, the show delivers a tone that is both irreverent and affectionate, making it an ideal curtain-raiser for PRISM’s first season in its permanent home.

Making Porn

  • Run: June 25, 2026-August 2, 2026
  • Schedule: Mostly Thursdays–Sundays
  • Tickets: Reserved seating, $5495

Ronnie Larsen’s Making Porn offers a sharp, funny, and unexpectedly moving look behind the scenes of the gay adult film industry. Set against the backdrop of a film shoot, the play explores the ambitions, insecurities, humor, and humanity of the people in front of and behind the camera.

Equal parts provocative comedy and character-driven ensemble piece, Making Porn examines image, intimacy, performance, and identity with wit and warmth, continuing PRISM’s commitment to work that is daring, adult, and deeply entertaining.

Raw Dog Comedy Festival

  • Run: July 2-3, 2026
  • Format: Late-night performances
  • Tickets: Reserved seating, $54.95

The Raw Dog Comedy Festival brings a fearless late-night comedy experience to PRISM with queer, uncensored performances designed for adventurous audiences. Bold, body–positive, and intentionally uninhibited, the festival invites comics and audiences alike to embrace vulnerability, humor, and a sense of playful freedom.

As a special event within the summer lineup, Raw Dog expands PRISM’s programming beyond traditional theater and underscores the venue’s interest in offering a wide range of nightlife and performance experiences.

Company Momentum

PRISM launched with Camp Morning Wood, a massive hit that served as the company’s debut production before the move into its permanent home.

That early success established momentum for a resident venue and positioned the company to build a year–round home for theater, comedy, and LGBTQ+ performance in Palm Springs.
